"So what do you want to eat?" Cole asked as we walked down his wide, princess-like, white stairs. I thought for a moment because loads of dishes went through my mind. The problem with me was - I loved a variety of dishes and I seemed to crave every single one of them.
Finally through constant thinking and hard decisions, I picked a dish. "I'm feeling like eating spaghetti," I concluded with a smile. It had been a while since I've eaten the dish. The thought of the red sauce delicacy made my heart thump and my mouth water.
Cole grinned, "I actually wanted to eat that too."
I nudged him in the side, "You better make it yummy."
"You could say anything Pasta is my specialty," he declared. By the way he talked about his cooking skills, it seemed as though he was confident about his talent in the kitchen.
As we walked down the steps, I couldn't help but gasp. The house was so beautiful, like those mansions I've seen in the movies. The walls differed per room, some walls were darker or more colorful than others. From my view, I could see the kitchen and living room. The house was so big, that I couldn't see everything with my field of vision.
I looked around, trying to find any signs of other people in the house. "Where is the rest of your family?" It was Saturday morning, so I expected for people to be here. However, there wasn't a being in sight.
Cole shrugged and flashes me a small smile. But his eyes were different, they seemed quite sad and unhappy.
I shouldn't have asked. It was obvious that I have sparked an unwanted memory in his head. I cursed under my breathe as we continued down the stairs without any talk. Finally, as we reached the bottom of the stairs and began walking to the kitchen.
"Would you need any help with cooking?" I asked, hoping to initiate a conversation. I couldn't stand the awkward silence between us after my mishap. But sadly realized that it was a stupid thing to say since I sucked in the kitchen.
I shook my head, "never mind I suck."
Cole looked at me curiously, "don't say that. You probably just need a bit of practice."
I snorted, "trust me honey. I made my oatmeal into rock the last time I cooked."
He looked at me with a surprised expression on his face, and then that expression soon morphed into a huge, wide smile. He began to laugh, showing his pearl white teeth and small dimples. I was absolutely mesmerized. I've never seen him genuinely laugh before and it was beautiful. He seemed like a completely different person when he laughed.
His usual poker face was intimidating, hot but scary. Even when he smiled at me, they weren't genuine, more of an " I'm smiling to be nice". But right now, it was all real.
When he smiled and laughed, I couldn't help but smile along while chuckling a bit.
"I can't believe you did that," he exclaimed between chuckles. He seemed to radiant and cheery, unlike his usual self. And I absolutely loved it. Just looking at him gave me butterflies in my stomach.
Honestly speaking, it was more fluttering than our kiss last night. Actually, I would pick his smile over kissing any guy. Which means a lot since I was infatuated by a lot of celebrities.
"Yeah, not my brightest moment," I agreed.
He subtly ran his fingers through the brown hair. "Don't worry, I'll help you."
