Abby's Pov:
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" I thought as I walked away from the school. "Hey I'm just happy that we finally got to cream Amy. Did you see the look on her face? Priceless!" Liz said. I rolled my eyes and kicked a rock. "Well it would have been perfect if I said something else. Late power getter?! Where did that even come from?!" Liz laughed. "You'll be surprised but I think that is just how weird you are." Wow. "Gee thanks Liz I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Not." "Hey!" She exclaimed. I chuckled and continued walking. I past an alleyway when Liz scream "Stop!" "What?" I asked. "Do you smell that?" She said and I sniffed the air. My eyes got big. "Blood!" I practically screamed. "Yes now hurry! Go see what's happening " I ran back to the alley and gasped. There was a circle of five boys punching and hitting a boy, about my age. That wasn't the only bad part. They were calling him names and telling him to kill himself. Memories of when people did that to me popped up in my mind. Now I could feel my blood boil. "Hey!" I screamed. "Leave him alone!" The boys stopped and looked at me. "Oh yeah." One said. "Why should we?" He smirked and I wanted nothing more than to kill him. "Because I can kill you in an instant." I said with a devilish smirk. The boys laughed which made my anger grow. "A girl thinks she can kill us? You don't stand a chance." Another one said when he calmed down. I took off my jacket and threw it to the side. I crossed my arms acrossed my chest making sure my tattoo showed. "Now are you going to leave him alone, or do I have to teach you a lesson?" The boys stood there paralyzed until they ran away. "Wimps." I muttered and Liz nodded, in my headed of course, in agreement. I looked over at the boy and my eyes soften. He was curled up in a ball probably crying. I walked over to him, careful to keep a foot at least of separation so that he doesn't get scareder.
"Um, excuse me. Could you tell me your name please?" I asked as nicely as I could. The boy was trembling and looked up. He had cuts and bruises all over his face and body, and sure enough he was crying. "W-why d-did you h-help me?" He asked. "Because I have had that done to me before too. No one deserves that. They're lucky I didn't shifted." I gave a small smile hoping he would return it but he just sighed. "They're right. I might as well kill myself." He said standing up. "No?!" I screamed. He looked confused. "Why not? No one likes me anyways." "Let me tell you my story and then you can decide what you want to do." He looked hesitant at first but then nodded. "It's not like it's going to matter anyways." I walked over and grabbed my jacket. "We'll see about that." I grabbed his hand and he tried to pull away. "Can't you explain here?" He asked. "And risk them coming back and me committing five murders? No we need a better place to talk. Now hold on it will only be a second." He looked confused. "What do you mean a-" He tried to say but couldn't finished because I teleported to the hill at the park. When he got there and backed away from me. "How-" He started to ask but I pointed to my tattoo. "Oh." Was all he said. "Come on." I said as I sat down and patted the space next to me. Reluctantly he sat down. "You know, a lot of things have happened on this hill. Some of them good moments some of them bad, but nothing that I wish to forget. What power are you? And I also think I haven't got a name yet either. My name's Abby." He was quite for a moment. "Mine's Jordan and.... I'm a dud." Jordan said sadly. I sighed. "Those jerks are lucky I don't pound them to a pulp!" Liz said and I nodded mentally. "Well looks like I can relate to you." I said. "What but you're a Fate! How can an all powerful Fate have the same story as a stupid useless kid like me?" I sighed.
"I didn't always have awesome powers Jordan. I too was a dud. My parents and best friend helped me though. Life was good until my parents died in a car crash. I had no family left. People were there for me and always apologize and took pity on me, but my best friend didn't. She knew it made me feel worse. She helped me move on from their death. Soon I was able to remember them without crying for hours. Then this girl decided to bully me. It all started with one person, but them it came to everyone in the school. Expect one person, my best friend. She was the one to keep me from committing suicide. Then I had little hope left. One day I walked to her in school and she told me to kill myself, and I completed her wish. I jumped off the bridge." He gasped. "So that was you when the light flashed." I nodded and continued. "I left a note and died holding a picture of me with my parents. I was so close to heaven until I got transported somewhere. Turns out it was the Council Room for the Fates. They told me about my powers, sent me to heaven for two weeks to be with my family, and trained me before sending me back down to Earth. I woke up at my own funeral. I made up with my friend and won a final battle with my worse bully." He gasped at that part.
"Don't worry she's still alive. I let her pick the battle style. She picked powers, no weapons or shields, and it was to end when someone gave up. The deal was that if she won I would basically be her slave for the rest of my life, but if I won the she would have to apologize to me and everyone else she bullies and stop bullying people. She threw a few fire balls, I shifted, bata bing bata boom I won. People were surprised but I told them that I was a Late power getter. And let's be serious for a moment but that was all I could come up with. If I said to them, 'Hey I'm a Fate. Treat me like you did before all of this.' They would think I was crazy. Then I was walking home, smelled blood, found you, and now we're here." I finished spreading my arms out on the last part. He was shaking his head. "Why didn't you have her do something else if she lost? I get stop bullying but why just that and apologize to people? She should have suffered something worse than that." I laughed lightly. "How do you know that it won't be hard for her. I'm sure it's hard enough to apologize to them, but stop bullying people? That was her way of feeling better about herself. She has a lot to learn."
"So what's your story? If you don't want to share you don't have to." I asked him and he sighed. "I might as well have one person know." He said to himself more than to me. "My parents abused me. They threw me out of the house periodically and told me to come back the next night. Soon they kicked me out and moved out taking all of their stuff. I had a few belongings and some money I had hidden and save and moved into a cheap apartment when I was fifteen. I try to balance school with working a job but it's tough. I go to the public school by the shopping center. People keep bullying me because my parents ditched me and because I'm a dud."
I felt tears in the conner of my eyes but I blinked them away. No one wants pity. "Tell me who bullied you and I'll make sure they stop. As for keeping up with payments and working a job while trying to get educated, I got you covered. Come live with me and my friend. You can finish school and save up money." I looked at him and for the first time, I saw him smile. "Thank you." He said before hugging me. "You're welcome." We let go and I gasped. "Look." I said pointing to him. He was glowing. "What's going on?" He asked. We both stood up. I watched amazed while light consumed him. He floated up and beams of light shot out of him. Soon the light faded and he came back down. I gasped again at his new look. From torn raggedy clothes to brand new stylish clothing. His blonde, dirty hair changed to dark red spiky hair. And his brown dull eyes changed to red and orange eyes full of energy. On the same arm I had my tattoo on, he had a similar one except the circle was red and not orange. "You're the Fire Fate! Jordan you're a Fate!" I said excited. "What do you mean?!" He asked. I summed an ice mirror to let him see. "Whoa. I look different." He said staring at his reflection. "I hate to see how they feel when you walk in to school like this." I said and we looked at each other, smirking devilishly. I knew then what we would do next. Time to take down some bullies.
