Abby's Pov:
"Stop looking so worried. You know I wouldn't let you leave in anything less than decent." Emma said. We were at the party and I couldn't wait to go home. Remember back to the craziest party you ever went to and think of that as a kids birthday party compared to this party.
If you never been to a party for a Fate ceremony before, then you haven't experienced life. I swear everyone on the face of the earth is here tonight. I think a few people from other dimensions came as well. I am not so big on large parties.
Emma however loves them. I couldn't have even try leaving after the ceremony because she would have found me and force me to come here. Well at least I only have to stay here for two hours. But to me at parties, even an hour seems like a day.
"Yeah well I hate this dress." I told Emma. It's not like I have a problem with dresses or anything. I always just wear shorts and a tank top underneath so I can get out of it faster before sleeping. My problem is the dress choice.
She picked a red, sparkling dress with a red ribbon. But that's not all, it's above the knee and is a strapless dress. Lucky me, not. And she didn't even let me wear a tank top! Cab you believe her?
"Come on! Just two hours. If you want to stay longer than I can give you my extra dress." Emma said. "You have an extra dress?" I asked. "Yeah. It's that blue and black one you got at the mall last year. The one that was too bad on you then and fits now." Emma said.
After my parents died, I didn't really go shopping all that much. Emma ,deciding that I needed a change of clothes, took me out to the mall. One store had this amazing blue dress with black lace designs on it. It was a sun dress and I really liked it. So even though it was too big I got it.
"I guess I forgot about that dress. But could I try it on?" I asked Emma. "Fine. Only because I want you to have fun tonight. It's in room 4A." Emma told me. "Okay I'll meet up with you later bye." I told Emma as I walked off, happy to get to change my dress.
I walked up the never ending stairs case, luckily I'm no wearing heels, and finally got to the top floor. The way this works is that the Fates (aka me and my friends) get to crash on the top floor so they can sleep after this is all over. Plus it helps if you want peace and quite.
Emma and I are going to have a sleepover in my room tonight so I had her put her stuff in there. Tomorrow evening is when we go off to the Council of the Fates and then after three days we officially start ruling.
I rummaged around the room until I found the dress hanging up. Then I switched out of my red dress and into the blue dress. I looked at the mirror and smiled. My dress fitted perfectly. I spin and smiled cause it flowed out.
"Flaunting in the mirror are we?" A voice asked and I jumped. I used the first power that came to mind and threw that power at the stranger. "Really Abby? You defended yourself with a snowball?" The same person ask and I look over. "Jordan? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I thought this was my room?" He said. "No it's mine. Isn't yours 7A?" I asked. "Oh right it is. I guess I forgot." He said. "I highly doubt that." I thought. "Well that not very nice." Jordan said. "Sorry but you are the one who barged in here without knocking." I said.
"I thought it was my own room." Jordan defended. "If you are ever lost and trying to find your room, always always knock and say, 'I am coming in.' People may be in there and it will save you less awkward moments in life." I said.
"Well next time I'll do that." Jordan said. "Why are you trying to find your room anyways?" I asked. "Have you seen the party? I was there for less than an hour before I wanted to leave." Jordan said. "Yeah even the garden is filled up." I said.
"What about you, what are you doing up here? Are you retiring for the night?" Jordan ask. "I wish. Emma said I have to be there for two hours at least. Or until drama happens." I said. "Well that won't take long. There's so many people there's bounded to be some drama." Jordan said. "Yeah I guess." I said.
"Too bad I can't go somewhere quite besides the rooms." I said. "Well there is one spot no one knows where to get to." Jordan said. "Where? If it's a dark alley, I'm out." I said and Jordan laughed. "Don't worry, you'll be able to see the party but not have to deal with the drama. Come on I'll show you." He said. "Okay but I'm trusting you." I said and he took my hand and lead me off into the halls.
After many twists and turns we made it to a room. He opened it up and I was speechless. "Really Jordan? This is the janitor's closet." I said. "That's what they all think." Jordan said. He walked back and pushed the conners of the room in a secret order. Then a stair case appeared.
"Okay, how did you know about that? Unless you lied and you are actually insanely rich and this is your weekend house." I said. "I have sources from the inside." He said and I waited for him to explain. "Okay I asked the Fire Fate for a quite spot to go to so I can still see the party." He said.
"Come on. The spots just up these stairs." Jordan said. He closed the door and we walked up the stairs. Then he opened a hatch and we got out. I looked around and saw we where on a roof. "Wow. You can see the whole world from her." I said and he laughed.
"It's pretty cool right? You can look over most of the party from here." Jordan said. "Most? This looks like the whole party to me." I said. "There's people inside Abby. That's the other part of the party." Jordan said.
"Oh. But still look at this. So many people here tonight for..." I started. "Us." Jordan said. "Everyone in this dimension and also people in others are celebrating for us. Even the people who we had conflicts with are happy about all this." Jordan said. "And when I say us I mean everyone else in the council too." Jordan rushed out and I laughed. "Yeah... I wonder how they're enjoying the party." I said.
I sat down at the edge of the roof and Jordan did the same. "Sometimes, when I'm out and about and bored, I play a game. I look at a person and think of what life they might have." Jordan said. "That seems interesting but I try not to guess people from looks." I said.
"Why not?" Jordan asked. "People sometimes shouldn't be treated badly because of stereotyping or rumors. Just like how the popular people are sometimes picked out by wealth or looks. People should be given chances and should be able to tell people about the real them than their labels." I said.
"I guess you're right. I make the same mistakes as other people. I actually have seen my parents." Jordan said and I looked over to him. "When?" I asked. "After the ceremony." He said. "What did they say?" I asked. "They said about how their plan for me to grow up strong worked and that I should have thanked them in my speech."
"And you told them....." "That they were the worse parents ever for treating Jenny like at after she visited her older brother. And that they shouldn't come anywhere near her or less they would face harsh consequences." Jordan said. "Wow. You did change." I said. "I guess it's my older brother instincts." He said.
"Yeah. You really like your sister don't you?" I asked. "I haven't seen her in so long and I'm leaving her. I wish she could come with us." Jordan said. "Jenny's living with Emma, correct?" I asked. "Yes why?" Jordan asked. " I may or may not have secret passage ways that connects to my old house to the new house I'm going to be living in and I may or may not be willing to let you know the password and use them to see your sister any time you want." I said.
"You'll really let me?" Jordan asked. "Of course." I said and before I could say something else, he kissed me.
