"Wait! You're kidding me, right?" Logan exclaimed, looking between Carl and Jack. "You seriously killed the pack's leader?!"

Carl nodded, his stern face breaking into a smile. "None of them saw us coming, to into their fight over leadership."

Logan sat back shaking his head. "Wow, just, wow!" Logan looked at the clock in the wall. "I've got to go, I still have to go out hunting before I get back."

Carl nodded, face dropping back to it's usual stern look. "Just be careful, some of the pack might be looking for revenge."

Logan nods, standing up. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks."

At the doorway Logan turned around. "And about my plan... Do you think it could work?"

Jack shrugged. "It might, but it's a risk, but what's life without a little risk?" Logan chuckled and walked out the door.

Logan walked into the house, the door closing behind him. Two rabbits hung from his belt. "Hello? Anyone home?" Logan called, unsure if Marita would still be here.

Footsteps quickly came down the stairs. Marita whipped around the corner. "Hey, no ones home."

Logan smiled, the bruise looked slightly better, after a day's time, but it was still ugly. "Hey, beautiful."

Marita huffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, right, I'm wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday, and I have a big bruise on my face."

Logan smiled and hugged Marita close to himself. "You're still beautiful to me."

Marita smiled. "Thanks, any luck today?"

Logan shrugged. "Got these two little guys, but otherwise no luck."

"Oh," Marita frowned, "ok well I'll help you skin them and cook them up. You know if you're not planning on selling them."

Logan shrugged, heading outside with her, sitting on the ground while she sat on the tree stump. "Where's my mama at anyway?"

"She left to go shopping, I think, it was hard to hear from up in your room," Marita told him.

Logan shrugged and continued skinning the rabbit. Marita put a hand on his shoulder. "Cool down, I know what your thinking, but you can't change how your mother spends her time."

Logan sighed and set his knife down. "I know, but I'm just worried, for Papa." Marita nodded telling me to continue. "We're going to have to move away if we're going to get married, otherwise my mother and your father will get in the way."

Marita sighed and nodded toward Logan. "I-I know, it's just where would we go?"

"I have some, er, friends and they travel a lot so I asked them. They said we can go to a town of the name Berdum." Logan told her, looked up at her.

"Wow, ok. When do we leave?" Marita asked, surprised.

"Tonight, but here's the thing," Logan hesitated, "we have to go through the woods near the border. Are you ok with that?"

Before Marita could answer a scream ripped the air. Logan stood up quickly whipping around to see Mama standing there. "You're going to run away?!" Mama shouted. Mama started ranting and pacing, before stopping. "I-I can't do this," putting her hand to her head, before falling on the ground.

"Mama?" Logan said, cautiously. Logan shared a look with Marita, then walked over to Mother. "She fainted," Logan said sitting back surprised.

Logan picked Mama up and brought her into the house, Marita following. Once they laid her in her bed, they went downstairs.
