5 Days Later~

"I love you Penguin." I started off with, just like the past five days I've spent talking to Luke with no response. Of course, I didn't expect one, he was in a coma.

"Calum and the boys came in a little the past few days. None of them talked to you, I don't think they can handle it. I can barely handle it, but it gives me something to do. Gives me hope that maybe you can hear me. I've been without you talking to me for almost 3 weeks now. But you're safe. And that's what matters now. You're safe, you're getting taken care of by the wonderful staff here at the hospital, and I can talk to you. I brought my guitar with me. Well, it's yours. I learned to play while you were gone. I'm going to play you some songs.

As I was finished up singing Stiches, as was just about to walk out to get some food, I heard a slight groan. I spun around as Luke opened his eyes, and I set the guitar down on the ground and sprinted to his side.

"Penguin." I murmured, as Luke looked around the room in a daze.

"Penguin you're okay." I said, grabbing his chin to make him look at me.

"You're okay. You're safe, you're in the hospital right now." I said, and he blinked at me.

"Brae?" He mumbled.

"Right here, Luke. I'm right here."

"Wh-Where am I?"

"You're in the hospital babe. The police rescued you. You're safe. You're safe."

"I'm safe?"

"Extremely safe." I assured him, taking his hand that wasn't in the cast.

"I'm not-I'm not dreaming?"

"Everything's real." I sat down next to him on the bed, kissing his cheek gently.

"I'm safe." He murmured, leaning into me.

"You are." I agreed, wrapping my arm around his shoulder as he stared at the doctor-who had just entered the room, clearly afraid to trust anyone again.

"It's okay, penguin. He's here to help. He's not going to do anything bad to you. Nothing that will harm you." I said, as the doctor approached us slowly and Luke tried to hide behind me.

"No. No. No needles!" He said, looking at the needle the doctor held in his hand.

"It's just to help you go to sleep." The doctor said. Luke shook his head in protest.

"I'll get him to fall asleep without the medicine." I said, and the doctor reluctantly left the room. Luke was looking around the room in fear, and I hugged him, his body immediately relaxing into mine and his head burying in my shoulder. I started to sing, rubbing his back soothingly. His arms wrapped around me, and pulled me closer to him. After a few songs, his hug loosened, and his breathing was even, meaning he had fallen asleep. I noticed Calum and the others were outside his room, watching me sing to him. I motioned for them to come in and they filed in.

"How's he doing?" Calum whispered.

"He's doing okay. He doesn't really trust anyone new. He refused to let the doctors get close to him. Doesn't like needles." I whispered back.

"Would he let you near him if you held the needle?" Michael asked.

"I really didn't want to make him have to do something or have something done to him that he didn't want. He's been through enough as it is, if he doesn't want the needle near him, I'm not going to bring it near him. It was just to help him fall asleep. I figured I could sing him to sleep sooner than he let the doctor give him the medicine to help him fall asleep."

"Does he know he's safe?" Ashton asked.

"He does." I replied, and Luke snuggled into me in his sleep, his arms that were still around my waist tightening again. I started to sing again, swaying from side to side to try and get him out of his nightmare. His grip loosened again, but he stayed snuggled into me, so I carefully moved so I was leaning on the bed that was inclined at a 45 degree angle.

"He needs you in his life." Calum stated.

"I need him in my life." I replied, turning my head to look at Luke.

4 days later~

Luke was allowed to leave the hospital today. As we exited the hospital, paparazzi and fans surrounded us, and Luke stopped and stepped closer to me, his breathing getting faster.

"Give us some space. He needs space!" I said, wrapping my arms around him. They dispersed, still around us but giving us about five feet of room around us. I smiled at them as I led Luke into my car that Calum brought to the front.  I climbed in back with him and he snuggled into me as we drove to Calum's house. When we arrived Luke's family was waiting, and they hugged him. He wrapped his arms around them, resting his head on their shoulders and closing his eyes. I smiled at the sight and started to hum, causing luke to open his eyes. He smiled at me and came over to me, placing his hands on my hips, before starting to dance with me. I grinned and wrapped my arms around his neck, before I started to sing the song I was humming. I saw Liz take a picture of us dancing, and I rested my head on Luke's chest, continuing to sing, moving on to another song.

OKAY SO THAT'S DONE. NO MORE DRAMA FOR AWHILE, I PROMISE.
