Chapter 36

"Luke hurry up!" I yelled into the bedroom, waiting for my husband to finish getting ready for the beach.

"I can't decide what swimsuit to wear!" He yelled back.

"You have two of them! Just chose one of them and put it on!"

"But I can't chose!"

"Chose the one in your right hand!" I yelled, knowing he was holding both of them in his hands.

"How'd you know I had one in each hand?" Luke asked, coming out finally.

"Because you're my husband. I pick up on small quirks like that. You hold what you're trying to decide on in your hands." I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him out the door, grabbing the beach bag by the front door on the way out. I pulled him over to the convertible, and then lowered the roof. I turned the car on and turned music up as I pulled out of the driveway. Everyone was meeting us there, and Calum was getting a ride from Ember, since he had stayed the night at her place. Closer by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey came on, and I turned the music even further up, since it was one of my favorite songs at the moment. I started singing along as I merged onto the highway. Luke joined in, and the entire way we sang along to the songs on the radio, getting looks from the other people in cars. I pulled into the spot next to Ashton's car, and I pulled Luke out of the car, as he grabbed the bag from the back seat. The others were already messing around in the water. Luke rummaged around the bag and pulled out the bottle of sunscreen, and we lathered ourselves with it, getting each other's backs. Afterwards, we waited for 15 minutes to let the sunscreen soak in, to make sure it didn't get washed off in the ocean. As soon as the 15 minutes were up, I grabbed Luke and pulled him into the cold water, immediately going under the surface. I came up laughing, as Luke stood there with his arms wrapped around his body, trying to stay warm.

"Aw, is someone cold?" I teased, wading over to my husband.

"Y-Y-Yes." He said, his teeth chattering. I opened my arms and he hugged me close, absorbing my warmth. I fell backwards, pulling him with me and successfully dunking his head underwater. He picked me up as we both surfaced, and I grinned sheepishly at him.

"My bad." I said innocently, but he saw through me and dropped me back into the water.

"You'll regret that Hemmings!" I said as I surface a fair bit away from him.

"How you gonna get me back from over there?" He yelled back, as I ducked under the surface of the water and swam around him, so I was behind him. I surfaced quietly, before pushing him forwards and causing him to fall into the water.

"That's how." I stated with a smirk as he stood up, playfully glaring at me. Just then Calum came running as fast as he could, which wasn't very fast in the water, and leaped on Luke's back, wrapping his arms around his neck as Luke grabbed his legs instinctively. I giggled and ran to get my phone, before taking a photo of the scene that was in front of me. Ember was laughing at the pair of boys, chatting with Nikki and Brianna off to the side, all three of them out of the water currently.

"I wasn't expecting you to catch me." Calum admitted.

"Well I didn't want to get choked." Luke said, letting out a small chuckle. I waded over to them and pushed them both over, and they rose to the surface, glaring at me.

"you love me." I said, already knowing their next words.

"That we do!" said the boys at the same time. I pushed Luke down and climbed on his shoulders. He stood back up, shaking his head, spraying little water droplets everywhere. I giggled, resting my hands on top of his head. He walked out of the water, and from my vantage point I could see the hidden paparazzi taking photos of our day out. I chose to ignore them, since they weren't bugging us or swarming us like the usually do. We walked around the area around the beach, looking at the items in the windows of the shops. It was a beach town, so we encountered a lot of people roaming around with either just their swimsuits on, or running shorts over their swimsuit bottoms. I noticed Calum was lingering by a shop window with jewelry in it, and I tapped Luke's head, before pointing towards Calum and saying I wanted to get down. He let me down, and I walked over to him, following his gaze to a gorgeous necklace.
