once the group had escaped the guard, they were finally out of the woods, but that lead them to another issue.
they had no fucking clue where they were. the land was a literal wasteland. it was empty. the grass seemed dead, the only vegetation was the forest behind them, and it was unnervingly quiet.
"so uh, what the hell do we do now?" ariel questioned. jenna sighed.
"great. we've wound up in the city of reality," jenna muttered. ryan quirked an eyebrow at her.
"the city of reality? tay, there's no city here," ryan said, glancing around. there was absolutely no city there, but there seemed to be many people off in the distance.
"there is a city." jenna paused. "but, the buildings disappeared after people started paying more attention to other things. you see, there used to be lovely things here, but no one seemed to care, so the buildings slowly faded away."
"that makes no sense!" dallon objected. "i know it's crazy having powers and such, but a disappearing city?" jenna sighed.
"believe whatever you want, but we need to get to the kingdom of rhyme and reason."
"rhyme and reason?" gabe questioned. "are we even on earth anymore?" jenna sighed.
"you left the normal world the second you entered that cursed school," jenna explained. "from this point on, until you get to the city of expectations, you'll be stuck here."
"right..." dallon mumbled.
"c'mon before the sun goes down," jenna exclaimed. "we need to get to rhyme and reason."
"why do we need to go there?" marina questioned. "i thought we needed to go to expectations or whatever."
"because we need to find queen acumen," jenna stated as if it were obvious. "she's an important part of the journey back home."
"im so confused," alex muttered.
"aren't we all?" patrick added.
