the butterfly effect: "a butterfly today could be a hurricane tomorrow." also known as the idea that a small phenomenon could have a big impact later on.
once everyone had jumped over the bush, they all began walking towards the forest around the school. the gate they entered through on the first day seemed to be gone, being replaced by trees.
lynn narrowed their eyes when they passed by a bench with a gun on it. they contemplated grabbing and keeping it, but decided otherwise. they wouldn't really need it, or so they thought.
"it was crazy!" as lynn zoned back into reality, they her alexa exclaiming something. "i can't believe we got out so easily."
"something tells me we aren't home free yet," ariel muttered. "i mean, think about it; they attacked and tied us up. do you think they'd just let us leave like that?"
the group continued walking, talking about anything and everything. ariel could tell something felt wrong, but he didn't mention it.
