later that day, ariel returned to the group. he was acting strange. he flinched at the slightest touch, he looked more tired than usual, and his voice slurred and stammered when he talked.
"uh, guys, has anyone seen breezy lately?" dallon questioned. breezy had been missing from the group for weeks, but no one seemed to realize.
"oh my-" melanie shook her head. "oh my god. i think- i-"
"we left breezy at the school," lynn muttered. the group all went silent.
"not true," ariel interrupted. "they were with us in the repeating forest. they must've gone missing somewhere along the way," ariel said, but his voice sounded far from truthful. lynn narrowed their eyes at ariel.
"ariel, you've been missing when brendon and ryan died, and now you know all about breezy's disappearance," lynn observed. "doesn't that sound suspicious?"
"stop blaming him for everything!" marina yelled, clenching her fists. "all you've done is attack him and place the blame on him! do you honestly think he'd kill his own friends? you're insane, lynn!" marina huffed and stayed quiet for the rest of the walk.
