"so, have you guys learnt your abilities yet?" ariel asked, attempted to start a conversation.

"my ability is listen to gwen stefani's new album for six hours day!" alexa exclaimed. brendon glared at them. "okay, but for seriousness i can breathe underwater."

"i can control fire," a shy voice said from a corner of the room. "i didn't introduce myself earlier because i got nervous. but im ryan. she/her."

"i can control wind. boring, i know," lynn said, rolling their eyes.

"i can heal wounds with the touch of my hand," dallon chimed in.

"i can control water," jon said, shrugging. spencer pecked her cheek before speaking up.

"i can turn invisible."

"i can breathe underwater," melanie exclaimed, smiling. they seemed proud, which made ariel smile a bit.

"i can control fire," ashley said, shrugging it off.

"i can make plants grow on any surface," gabe spoke up. "it's kinda lame but it's fun." he touched the wooden floor with his finger and a small rose grew from the floor. marina grinned.

"i can heal wounds," brendon said, picking up gabe's rose and placing it in ryan's hair. ryan giggled.

"i can control water," marina said, shrugging. "apparently it's a common ability, so not much special."

"i can freeze time and look into the past and future," ariel said, shrugging. "not much too great i guess." ryan's eyes widened.

"nothing special?" she exclaimed. "you're the only student with that ability in this whole school!" ariel shrugged.

"oh. that's cool, i guess."
