I giggle under my breath before I burst into a fit of laughter. Evangeline, Christopher, and Evermore all look at me confused. "What is so funny my queen?" Evangeline asks. I laugh even more. I settle down after a few seconds. "I'm sorry I just... That whole 'My queen' thing " I say with a proper accent "well I don't know how I feel about that" I explain. Christopher nods his head "Understandable." I start to flip through the old book Evangeline had grabbed and see all the different types of creatures.

I stop on one page. The top of the page had Elves written in a beautiful cursive writing. The words on the page seemed to be calling for me, like how when you're looking for a puppy and you see one out of all the others that just seemed to be meant for you. "What is it my queen?" Evangeline asks. I shake my head as I'm pulled out of the trance that the words had on me. I sigh "I don't know. I just seem to be drawn to this page. Like it's trying to tell me something" I explain to her. She thinks for a second. "Is there any chance that one of your parents are part of the shadow world?" she asks quickly as she starts walking towards me. I quickly shake my head "No. Well I mean I don't think so. My mom has always been just a normal mom. My dad" I pause as I remember... He's gone. "Well my dad passed away a few weeks ago" I say, my voice quiet and coated in sadness. By now, Evangeline is so close that I can feel her hair brush against my cheek as she looks deep into my eyes. "After the death of your father, did anything strange happen? Did you maybe think you saw him out of the corner of your eye or maybe hear his voice? Maybe he called your name?" Then I remember. The day that I had gone shopping after the funeral for food and got mom those flowers. Someone was whispering my name. someone had called me. I just couldn't place my finger on whos voice it was. It was so familiar. Evangeline ran over to her books and started searching through them. That's when I realized that I said all of that out loud.

"What was your fathers name?" Evangeline asked me. I tell her his full name and she starts looking through another stack of books. She finds a book and flips through the pages then grunts when she didn't find what she was looking for. "He must've changed his name" she whispers. Evangeline runs over to me and grabs my hand, pricks my finger, then runs over to a table covered in certain bottles of liquids and odd looking substances. I suck on the finger she pricked as I watch her add different things into a big bowl. She keeps whispering things under her breath in an odd language but after a few moments I start to understand a few words. Parent. Truth. Name. Elizabeth. I walk over to Evermore "What language is she speaking in?" I ask quietly. " She's chanting a spell in Latin to figure out if your father was an elf." She says so casually. Latin? But I've never learned any bit of Latin in my life. I think to myself. "Latin is a language that the Tenebris Angelus instinctively knows, remember? Latin will come to you easily as time goes by." Evermore tells me. I open my mouth to say something else but stopped when I hear a small bang right after Evangeline added the drop of my blood. Seere Selu was written out in the small cloud.

I watch as Evangeline starts looking through the papers again, confused. after a few moments of searching, Evangeline brings a book over to me. "Please sit" she says as she sits on the couch. I sit down beside her "Okay I'm confused. What's going on and what does it have to do with my father?' I ask. Evangeline starts flipping through the book then points at the page she stopped on. "Elves have the ability to speak to their loved ones after their death so the voice you heard whispering your name that day was your father. Mike was the name he went by when he ran from the shadow world. Seere Selu was his real name. He ran from the shadow world because it is forbidden for elves to have any type of relationships with a mortal,  let alone impregnate one. So when he found out that your mother was pregnant with you, he fled. He knew that if the Elven court found out what he did, him and your mother would be sentenced for death. Your mother didn't know the truth about his life so she never had any worries." She explains. I take a moment to process what I just heard. My father was an elf. And he spoke to me after he dies. "Wait... How do you know all of this stuff?" I ask Evangeline. She smiles. "A long time ago, a young elven man had come to me for help. He needed me to help him with hiding so he could never be found. That Elf was your father. I didn't remember him by his mortal name but Seere Selu was your father."
