The Truth

Jake and I sit there in silence. "The truth is that' he paused 'I'm an... well I think I'm an angle. But I don't think I'm an ordinary angle. If you can't already tell I have black wings" he stops. "What about at the mall and everything else?" I ask quietly. "I don't know how I can do it but I can persuade some one's mind into making them forget ever seeing me like that and that's exactly what I did with your friends. And the reason I knew where you were was because I live here and I saw you running towards here." he say straightly. "Now you tell me why you are here and what you meant by me having no idea what you will believe now" he says after a few moments of silence. "The thing is well... I can well' I pause ' I can read minds and cense what others feel in emotions, but I knew something was off with you because I couldn't read your mind or feel your emotions" I say slowly. I never knew I would actually ever say that.

After a little while of talking it starts getting bad. "You see the thing is is that I have tried to leave this world but no matter how hard I try I can't die!" Jake says angrily. "See watch". He suddenly gets up, opens a bottle of alcohol, pours it on himself and lights himself on fire. I shut my eyes from the burn of the sudden heat in the room. I remember soon after the car accident happened I was playing with a candle and I felt the heat but no matter how long the fire was touching my hand it didn't burn nor  did I feel pain. I walk towards Jake and reach  my hand out. Jake staring at it wondering what I was going to do then I put my hand in the fire that Jake was surrounded with. "Elizabeth! No-" Jake said quickly but then realizes that my hand was not burning nor was I showing any sign of pain. "What-" I smile. "Looks like we're not so different after all." Jake sits there not moving with shock on his face "But how?" he asks with confusion and wonder in his voice. "Heck would I know?" I say as I laugh. He starts laughing as well.

Jake soon walks outside where the rain has gotten even worse and 'puts himself out'. I sit out there as well getting soaking wet right beside Jake. "Why?" I say out of no where. "Why what?" Jake says surely confused by my question. "Why did you save me from tripping in the mall? Why do you watch me during class? Why did you help me back there? Why do you constantly help me?" I say quickly. Jake looks down at me with his beautiful blue eyes. "We should head inside" he says quietly. "NO! Tell me why" I say impatiently. "Do you really want to know why I always watch you? Why I always make sure you're safe, make sure you're alright, make sure you are never hurt?" Jake says with obvious anger in his voice. "uh-yes I do" I say slightly scared. "You really don't know, do you?" he says clearly hurt. "Jake what are you talking about? Just tell me already" I say impatiently and confused. "Because I love you. Have you not noticed it? I LOVE YOU ELIZABETH!!!" he says with anger in his voice but hurt in his eyes. "I-I didn't know... I'm so sorry I didn't notice it before" I say sadly. "It doesn't matter. You can stay here for the night until the rain lets up... then you can leave" he says while turning to the entrance of the warehouse now. "Jake wait! I-" I was cut off by Jake slamming me into the side of the warehouse wall, pinning down my wrist with his body pressed up against mine. He's going to kiss me. Not like the one before but literally KISS me. Do it. He presses himself as close as he can while looking me in the eyes. He leans down to my ear and whispers "Goddammit Elizabeth.... you drive me crazy." I whisper to him "And you think you don't do the same to me?" Jake suddenly crashes his lips against mine.
