Chapter 2
"Would you stop pulling your skirt down! It looks like you have a stick shoved up your ass," Kate hissed, looking even taller and hotter than usual as she leaned on the bar, trying to look nonchalant while noting every look over guys gave her.
I could shove this swizzle stick down your throat, Allie thought. She wouldn't actually do it of course. The stick was plastic and she didn't really want her cousin to die. Suffer a bit maybe.
Across the room, some college kids started doing jello shots. Another point against Kate- After faking sick to cancel a date with Mike, she brings me to a college bar instead of a high school party.
Wonder of wonders, the juke box had the "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. The bar suddenly seemed like a better place already. She could enjoy herself tonight. She was wearing her favorite red shoes and the bar wasn't that bad. Maybe Kate was right and she needed to get out more.
"Over here I have a volunteer!" Kate yelled over the crowd to college boys across the room and started pushing Allie towards them.
I take it back. I want her to suffer a lot. Maybe I could saw off the end of the swizzle stick and stab her in the heart. Repeatedly.
"What do you think you're doing?! Are you insane?!", Allie cried trying to squirm away from the grip Kate held on her shoulder.
Kate held her shoulder with a vise-like grip while pushing her towards the group of boys. "Think of it as a learning experience. You can start having fun with a bunch of hot boys. Plus, there's a cutie over there I want to say hi to."
Allie just dug her flats on the bar floor and scowled, trying not to think of all the disgusting things that stuck to her shoes.
"If you don't do this I'll tell the bartender you're an underaged student with a fake ID and you're going to spend the night incarcerated in jail." Kate added thoughtfully as she let go of her.
"I hate you." Allie said with as much venom as she could muster as she accepted her fate. How bad could it be anyway? They'd just lick the jello of her belly and then she could go home.
----
On the other side of the room, Ike Hollis was seriously regretting his decision in joing his friends for bar night. I should have never let them in my apartment, he thought. It was all Tyler's fault.
"You know, that blonde has a great rack," Tyler had said. "See her at the bar in the dominatrix heels? You suppose she would go for one of my lines?"
"You haven't picked up a girl with those lines for ages." Ike had started to enjoy himself after distancing himself from the jello shots his friends were doing and easing into a beer-induced haze. Aside from the Billy Joel music playing in the background, this bar was not half bad.
"All right, it's been a while, but she doesn't know that." Tyler looked back at the blonde. "I'll use my dime line"
Ike just laughed.
"Come on, man. I need my wing man. My line rocks. You won't have to do a thing. " Tyler continued putting his arm around Ike. "She's in a duo so you just have to go over and pick up her crazy haired friend. You wouldn't even have to talk me up, the line will work its magic."
"Crazy?" Ike looked back at the bar. That's when Ike first saw her scowling petulantly, her arms crossed and her red flats digging in the bar floor as her blonde friend thrust her towards his drunk friends.
"The one in the black skirt." Tyler nodded toward the bar. "She's hard to see because the blonde sort of blinds you but I bet -----."
Ike tuned his friend out as he zoned in on HER. Every thing fell away except for HER, her wild hair and red shoes. And like every pick up line, trashy ballad and cheezy novel, Ike fell in love at first sight.

Just finished chapter 2!
I've loved the name Ike ever since I read it on Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events. He was the uncle who was devoured by leeches because he insisted on swimming in the lake. Shout out to Karmel who wanted this same name for her future baby :)
Comment, vote, follow if you liked it :) Oh and thanks for the votes and reads on the previous chapters, guys! Will update soon!
