((a/n; *cracks a devilish grin* and sorry for the shitty chapter))

"i want to be gabriella." michael said pointing to his laptop screen as they were watching high school musical.

"i'll be your troy then." calum murmured, pressing his lips to the side of michael's head.

"that's so cheesy." michael gigged at calum's words, intertwining his small fingers with calum's bigger ones.

"you love it." calum hummed, and michael rolled his eyes jokingly.

"mhm, i love you." michael said cutely, leaning in for a kiss but was interrupted by someone abruptly opening michael's bedroom.

luke stood there with red tear-filled eyes and a frown whilst his eyes shifted from michael to calum, his fist clenching.

"get out." luke spat harshly, glaring at calum.

"luke calm do--"

"no! i want him out now!" luke yelled, before he fell on his knees and broke into sobs. michael rushed over to luke, rubbing his back soothingly. calum sighed, deciding that he should go, mouthing 'call me' to michael before he left.

"lukey, what happened?" michael whispered as luke sobbed into michael's shoulder.

"a-ashton b-roke up with me." luke's cried out and michael quickly pulled luke into a hug, stroking luke's hair soothingly. luke was barely breathing at this point and shaking uncontrollably.

michael bit his bottom lip, not knowing what to do because this situation was unexpected. he actually thought luke and ashton's relationship would last but apparently not. and it made michael so upset when seeing his best friend like this.

"'m sorry, lukey." michael whispered sympathetically, kissing luke's forehead as his sobs quietened down a bit.

"i thought he loved me." luke hiccupped, curling up next to michael.

michael held back his tears when seeing his best friend like this but just played with luke's soft hair on the floor.

"mikey?" luke whispered, his head on michael's lap.

"yes, lu?" michael responded, watching as luke scroll through his pictures with ashton on his phone.

"you love me right?" luke questioned, stalking ashton's instagram and rubbed his thumb sadly over the screen as there was a picture of him and ashton.

"of course i do, i'm your best friend." michael smiled, pecking the side of luke's head.

"w-will you leave me too?" luke's voice cracked halfway making michael's heart clench.

"luke," michael sighed sadly, running his fingers through luke's hair, "i won't ever leave you."

luke sighed in relief, fiddling with michael's short fingers, sniffling every once in awhile.

"why did you guys break up?" michael asked softly and luke tensed, his bottom lip started trembling.

"i-- h-he said i was clingy and that he needed space." luke whimpered out, wiping away the tears that was starting to form in his eyes. michael frowned, rubbing luke's back comfortingly.

"i don't get it," luke sniffed, "i gave him my love, i gave him my virginity and i was there for him but he broke up with me."

"i feel like i shouldn't have fallen for him that easily." luke held back his tears, but a chocked sob left his lips.
