Leighton's POV

Once I stupidly introduced myself, we just stared at each other. I looked him up and down, admiring the beauty of this flawless man.

"Hello?" I asked, trying to not make it awkward, but failing miserably.

That seemed to snap him out of our staring contest, which only made it even more odd.

"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry. I'm Elliot."
Elliot, the mystery man, introduces himself, then holds his hand out for me to shake, which I do.

When I shake his hand, I hold it a little bit longer than I should have, not necessarily meaning to. I could've sworn, I felt butterflies and sparks just by a single touch.

YOU'RE GOING INSANE LEIGHTON!
YOU JUST MET THE DUDE!!

Before I make a bigger fool out of myself, I say, "Well, nice meeting you.. see ya around."

After bidding a quick farewell, I swiftly close my door and speed walk down the hallway, absolutely terrified not knowing if he was following me.

I walked until I saw the elevator. Quickly pressing the down arrow, I waited silently, anxious to get off this floor. While waiting, I began thinking and my pulse began to speed up.

What is this guy doing to me? I never have this much anxiety while meeting someone! Is something wrong with me?

While I was criticizing myself in my head, I didn't notice that the elevator was here to take me down. Because I was alone, I placed my left hand over my heart until I was calm. The elevators opened to the lobby just after I calmed myself.

I got off the elevator and text my mom to make sure she was meeting me at the hotel cafeteria for dinner. She texted back "On my way. About 3 minutes."

I got us a table, when a waitress came over. "Hello," she spoke, "I'm Melissa. I will be your waitress today. What can I get you to drink?"

"My mom is coming in a second. I would like a small Coke and a water." I ordered, before I noticed my mom had taken a seat next to me.

"What would you like, ma'am?" Melissa asked my mother.

"I will have just green tea." My mom ordered. The waitress walked away to go get our drinks, when I turned towards my mom, where I noticed she had this abnormal look on her face.

"What are you gaping at Mom? You have this weird look on your face and it's scaring me." I said, honestly concerned of what she was about to say.

"You are glowing, honey. What happened? Did you moisturize? Oh, did you meet a boy?" she asked, suddenly becoming very chirpy and excited.

"No, I didn't. Why would you say that?" I said, obviously lying to get her off my back.

"You are a terrible liar, baby. So, tell me, who did you meet!?" She questioned excitedly.

"Okay, yes I met a boy. His name is Elliot. He is our hotel neighbor. He is so so beautiful. Gosh!" I exclaim, happy to get this information out of me.

"When do I get to meet this boy?" She asked happily.

"You will probably meet him soon, considering he is our neighbor for two weeks.. or for however long he stays." I told her, sarcastically and sternly, practically saying this conversation is over.

The waitress then came back with our drinks, placed them down, and asked what we wanted to order. Mother ordered a double cheese burger, onion rings, and macaroni and cheese. I ordered a garden house salad with ranch, and an order of sea salt fries.
