Leighton's POV
Once I unlock the stall door, I come out to see the beautiful boy I feel like I have known forever, Elliot Rogers.
"Leighton? Can we talk?" He asks softly.
I slowly walk out, only then realizing that I probably look horrible, with my blood red eyes and stuffy nose from crying so much.
I hope when he sees me, he doesn't think this is his fault. It isn't my fault I am so insecure! I just don't like feeling as if this was all a prank. That happened once in high school. I didn't stop crying a whole three days.
"Hey.." I whispered, barely being heard.
He gave me a dazzling soft smile, before walking over slowly. He stared deeply into my eyes, when he placed a hand on my shoulder lightly, which made me shiver in delight.
Gosh I hope he didn't feel that! I'd be so embarrassed.
"I didn't mean to upset you in any way. I just thought you needed to know the truth." He said, slightly sounding out of breath.
"I-It's fine. I just had a lot on my mind."
He probably thinks I'm pathetic.
He nods, which tells me he understands. " I understand. If there's anything I can do to make you happy, tell me and I'll do it."
After an awkward second, I suggested that we head to my mom before she starts to worry, or get angry with us, or even think we are getting freaky, which is RUDE because I am her son.
We walk over to my mom, where she looks up from her phone, sadness shining in her eyes, yet didn't ask or say anything, which is telling me we will be chatting tonight before we go to sleep.
We sat and ate our meals silently, before finishing and paying for our meal. Together, we started walking towards the hotel.
Mom breaks the silence, "Well boys, I had an amazing night with you two. I'm so glad we got to spend some quality time together. And it was nice getting to know you better Elliot."
As we walk through the hotel doors, it's quiet until we reach our hotel rooms.
"Goodnight Leighton. Goodnight Kelly. Thank you guys for inviting me. It was a pleasure." He says politely, yet slightly nervous.
Once he speaks, he unlocks and opens the door so quick, I don't get to say goodnight or wave bye before he slams the doors.
Mom grabs the key from her purse, opening the door, and going straight into the bathroom, probably to use the restroom.
I walk to the closet area to take off my shoes, shirt, and pants, before putting on a soft beige shirt and dark blue gym shorts, deciding I'd rather shower in the morning.
Considering my mom will probably want to talk about the incident that occurred in the restaurant, I busied myself playing Color Switch on my phone until she finished whatever she was doing.
About 20 minutes later, she came out of the bathroom with a stern look on her face.
"What happened at the restaurant? I haven't seen you act like that since..." She said, getting softer at the end of the sentence.
"I know, mom. I'm just scared. I was thinking he was just playing me like James did in high school. Remember, he invited me to that date that night..."
