I turned my phone back on and used google to figure out where I was. Ten miles from the apartments.

I didn't think I was walking that long but it was almost five and I was starving. Using the whopping fifteen bucks in my pocket, I got Subway and ate quickly inside the restaurant. I went outside and guess who calls me again; John.

I answer the call.

"Alex?" John says, frantic.

"Hmm,"

"Where are you?"

I don't want him to try and find me. "Subway."

"Oh, just at Subway?" His voice is more relieved. "That's just down the street. I'll meet you there?"

"No, actually I'm at a farther one." I said, unable to lie to John.

"Why?" He is obviously taken aback. "You can't walk that far."

"I can do whatever I want. You do whatever you want. I haven't seen you almost at all for a week. You're at work all the time. You work so much that you came home the other day without your tie."

"John, baby who are you talking to come back." A feminine voice said.

Realization suddenly set in and I realized what he was really doing.

"Alex," John said softly.

"I'm not coming home." I said coldly, ending the call.
