To think I thought I could get through this year with no drama; That's a laugh, of course life can't be that easy.

Being called to the principals office right when I got to school was not the most reassuring to my plea.

When I walked into the principals office, a gorgeous woman with blonde hair at in the seat a crossed from principal Dormer. Her kind smile and light blue eyes watching me as I took the chair next to her.

"So what's up Dormer?" I say with such lack of formality because he knows he owes me for guiding around the foreign exchange students a month ago. All of them asked a billion and one questions.

I swear that none of them had to breath because it was just one question after the next.

Dormer smiles at me as he leans back in his chair, "how are you today Ronnie?"

"Just swell." I give him a big fake smile.

The blonde woman laughs a little and we both look at her, her hand gracefully covering her smile.

"I'm sorry to have laughed, it's just, I've never seen a principal and student act so close." She looks at me with sparkling eyes and it's hard to believe that I don't see a ring on her finger.

"We are cousins." Dormer says, I sign. That is why he can pretty much ask me to do anything.

I don't always say yes, but recently he broke up with his girlfriend and has been pretty broken up about it.

"Oh, how nice to have family." She says with a formal smile to both of us.

Yeah, whoohoo to family.

Mine is not all butterflies and rainbows believe it or not.

My father ran out on my mom with a younger girl and lives in Florida, my mom was so heart broken about it she turned to drinking and drugs. I have an older brother somewhere, but I haven't seen him sense I was 10. Last I heard he lives with a stripper in Phoenix.

One big happy family right?

"So why am I here cuz?" I break from my dysfunctional family and look at him.

"Well, Miss. White needs a tutor for her kids and after looking at your track record you are suitable for the job. Plus she wants it to be later in the evening, and I know how your home life is..." He looks up from my file with pity eyes and I look away.

I hate it when people look at me like that.

"And how long would I tutor them for?" I ask.

"Well it would be nice if you could three nights a week," Miss white says with a gently tone. "I'm not sure on how long you'd come for, but we could work that out after you've done a lesson."

I nod. Thinking this over.

I don't really have anything better to do, I mean my only friend isn't my friend anymore, a boyfriend is out of the question, home is just an empty house with no food.

"Sure I'll tutor them." I shrug.

Miss. White claps her hands and smiles, "oh thank you Ronnie."

I follow her out, because my first class is in the same direction.

"Ok kids, everything is in order. Have w good first day. I love you all." I glance up as Miss. White walks over to a group of kids and I stop in my tracks.

No way. Oh heck!

There is Jordan, the best football player at our school, then Ben who is the top A student in science, Mackenzie the dance squad slut and Ashely the cool chick at the school.

Oh heck! What have I gotten myself into?!

Miss. White says something, and all of them look over at me.

I freeze.

Oh crap, oh for all the love that's holly please just let this be non dramatic. I plea to whatever power is above.

I timidly wave to them and I get two glares that would send me to my death if I wasn't already dying of a heart attack; but I also get a wave back by Ashely the red haired girl and a small smile from Ben.

My eyes spot someone walking to them from behind, Miss. White looks at him tiredly while the others welcome him.

His black shirt clinging to his muscle and his hair slightly messed up.

Mackenzie whispers something to him and he looks over at me, his eyes scan my body slowly making me uncomfortable.

Out of the corner of my eye I see a girl hurrying to class, fixing her skirt while combing her hair with her fingers.

Wow. Getting busy in the parking lot with mister hot stuff. I mentally roll my eyes.

It's guys like him who break the most hearts.

Freaking Elex white is going to be a pain to deal with along with Jordan and Mackenzie, but I already agreed.

I put the hill of my palm to my forehead and sign, there goes my pathetic plea for peace.

Turning around, not wanting to look at them anymore and have them judge me; I walk to my little haven in this trash pit the adults call school.

The little name tag next to it reading janitors closet, but to me it's like Hawaii. Just my own little space where no one else goes and I can just breath.

It doesn't remind me of home, it doesn't remind me of school. It's just a dark little box that lets everything else disappear while I try to hold myself together so I don't blow up.

Jerry the janitor always lets me come in here, he is close with my cousin so he knows I'm technically in titled to the small, microscopic benefits to this heck of a place.

"Rough day kid?" He opens the door and grabs the mop and bucket.

I nod while rubbing my temple with my index finger, "indeed. Same to you?" I look at him as he shrugs.

"Ehhh, just a puker in the science labs. They are doing frogs today."

I scrunch up my face, which makes him laugh, "yeah today will be a busy day for me. Have a good one kid." He leaves and the door closes.

I let out another big sign, oh my life.
