Chapter 15

Jess' POV

"I've missed your voice" Nicky said as he sighed on the other end of the phone.

"I've missed it more" I smile like mad.

"I don't think so." We laughed. "So how'd it go today?"

"Yeah all good. We are all walking down to the beach except from Melanie because of her unexpected behaviour this morning."

"Why what's happened? Everything okay?"

"Yeah, it's all good now. I'll FaceTime you later to explain everything. How did the singing go today?" I asked.

"I think it went really well. I started crying, I couldn't help it but they said that I did really well but then I heard Louis say that he thinks I'm too young but I'm not sure yet, just gotta wait till tomorrow." I know how much this means to him, I really do. He needs this more than anyone and if I could I would help him.

"I know babe but we will just see how tomorrow goes on and then go from there. We can only hope" I say as I look at the beach that's now in front of my eyes.

"I will let you go and have some fun, don't forget about that FaceTime call tonight" I could tell that he was smirking. I smile.

"Oh don't worry, I won't" I say "goodnight Nicky"

"Night Jess" he says before hanging up.

"Hey guys wait up!" I shout as I run towards the others on the beach.

Lauren's POV

We walked past Jess, I watched as she twisted her hair, giggling slightly, I pulled a face at her to which she replied to with a glare. I saw the beach in sight and looked up at Rita.

"Race you!" I shouted to her and started running.

"Hey! That's not fair! I wasn't ready" she shouted after me and began running too. I jumped off the pavement and onto the sand and waited. Rita was A few feet behind me, when she was on the sand she grabbed my hand and carried on running.

"What?! Why are you still running, I won?!" I questioned her while laughing.

"To me, the beach is the sea" she said

"What? No the beach is the sand, if I'd have meant the sea, I would've said the sea"

"Not today it's not!" She pulled me along the sand. I shrugged so she let go of my hand and we ran towards the sea.  

"Hey wait up!" I heard behind. I turned around and saw Jess running too.

"I'm gonna win!" I said as I ran past Rita and dived into the clear sea. Rita was next, soon followed by Jess. "I told you I'd win, you have to buy me an ice cream and a drink now"

"Lauren!" Jess said laughing.

"Money doesn't grow of trees you know" Rita said.

"Ah well you see, technically it does, money is paper, and paper comes from trees soo...."

"Smart-ass" Jess said to me, giggling. "That's what happens when Lauren says 'race you'" she said towards Rita.

"Fine then" Rita said splashing us with water. We bopped up and down waiting for the others to get here. Thankfully, as it was the evening, the beach was empty, so we could do what we wanted.

I saw Nicole, Caroline, Matt, dermot and the other girls coming down the road.

"Slow coaches" I mumbled, loud enough for Jess to hear. She giggled, which made me laugh a little, then next thing we were both in silent hysterics.

"What are you two laughing at?' Rita asked us.

"Nothing.." Jess said.

"Not suspicious at all..." She said. I suddenly saw a giant wasp hover down over Rita's head.

"Rita.... Don't freak out, but there's a wasp above your head" I said. Jess' head snapped towards her.

"Well don't just stand there, get it off!" She semi yelled. Me and Jess looked at eachother then nodded before splashing her with water. Bad idea. I watched as it flew from Rita's head to Jess', she jumped up and down in the water, splashing herself.

"Get it off! Get it off!" She yelled while laughing slightly. The wasp then decided to move on to me so I tried to smack it out the way but it wouldn't work. I held my nose and held my breath and dunked my head under the water. I came back up and looked around, it was gone. We looked at eachother and laughed.

Jess' POV

Everyone were now on the dry, white sand watching as the sun began to go down. Everyone but Lauren. I looked over as she sat on the wet sand, just staring at the water as it reached her feet before going back out. I noticed mum, look over to what I was looking at, before standing up and walking over to her.

Lauren's POV

The sun started to go down as I sat on the sand watching the tide slowly go out. I could hear footsteps behind me so I turned my head around, I saw that it was Nicole, so I smiled softly and turned my head back towards the sea. She sat down next to me, putting her arm around me.

"You okay sweetie?" She asked me.

"Yeah, just thinking" I said sighing slightly.

"What about?"

"Just stuff, you know?" I said. She nodded, smiling softly as she rubbed my arm. "I'm sorry"

"Sorry? What for?"

"Everything. I feel like since you let me live with you, Jess and Lewis, I've been nothing but trouble... I am trying to change, you know?"

"I'm gonna be honest, you have been trouble, but I don't want you to change... Your perfect the way you are, okay your behaviour can be bad, but that's who you are. You live and you learn" she said. I smiled. "Now come on, come join the others" she said, standing then pulling me up. We walked over to the circle, Nicole sat next to Jess and Caroline. I looked round, Rita moved over slightly, leaving a gap for me next to her and Jess. We watched as the sun went down, it was perfect. I felt happy. Once the sun went down we stood up and began to walk back to the villa.
