Ezra's Life Continues

Chapter 20

"I don't like the sound of that" Kanan said with his blaster in hand. Ezra looked far into the mountain and saw two wolves watching them. "Move. NOW!" Ezra yelled pushing Kanan and Ruby. The two wolves quickly followed. Kanan looked back to see the wolves running behind them. They ran into the forest, jumping over roots and rocks. "Man these wolves are huge!" Kanan yelled over his shoulder and saw one of them about to jump on Ruby. Kanan stopped, put away his gun and force pushed the wolf while it was in middle air and hit a tree. "Thanks" Ruby said grabbing Kanan and started dragging him.

Jake and Alec followed the three from a safe distance. "Jack I think they're heading to town" "Hmm". At that moment they could hear the alpha's howl and looked towards the mountains. The message was clear across the wind. 'Get rid of them' "Well you heard Ash" Jack said. They turned to the three and could see the young boy looking at them and started to run with the older male and girl. "Lets go". Jack and Alec jumped down the mountain side and started the chase.

They could smell the scent of the two shifters as the wind hit them. "They're going into the forest!" Alec said in the bond "We aren't going to lose them" Jack said with determination. Jack was about the attack the red head but not before feel a push while he was in middle air and was thrown into a tree. Jack whined when he hit the tree and fell to the snowy floor. "Jack!" Alec yelled and abandoned the chase. Alec ran to his brothers side and nudged Jack's head causing Jack to groan. "Jack. Jack are you okay?" "I'm....fine Alec" Jack said getting up amd shaking himself off. "He's a Jedi" Alec said looking where they last saw the three "We must tell alpha" Jack nodded in agreement. Both brothers howled and ran off back towards the mountains and back toward their home.

Kanan, Ruby, and Ezra for what felt like hours and finally stop to see if they were still being chase. "That...was close. You okay Ruby?" Kanan said catching his breath "Yea I'm...fine" Ruby replied while taking deep breaths. "We should get moving. Wheres theres two, there's more" Ezra said.

"Why hello there". The three of them turned to see a man ride a tauntaun with two other tauntauns behind him. "What are you folks doing out here? It almost dark and the temperature drops to freezing" "We're trying to get to a village near here" Kanan said "Do you the way.." "Names Rosco and yea I do. Come on I'll show you, get on" Rosco said pointing to his tauntauns. Kanan got on one while Ezra and Ruby shared. Seconds later they all heard wolves howling and the tauntauns all of a sudden started going making noises and moving their heads wildly. "What's wrong with them?" Kanan asked trying to get his to calm down. "Whoa whoa! Easy girl! They normally get like this when wolves or predators are around. Easy girl!" Rosco said. They finally got the tauntauns to calm down and Kanan explains that two wolves were around and chased them. "Well my friend, you're lucky to be alive. Come on village's this way" and with that Rosco led the way with Kanan, Ezra and Ruby behind him.
While Kanan and Rosco talked, Ezra and Ruby also talked in whispers "Ezra, this is going to far. We need to tell him.....tell them" Ezra said nothing and took a deep breath in "I know your worried love" Ruby said "But we can't always live this this. It's been 5 months and...." "And what!" Ezra snapped "So they can drop us off at the next planet or turn us in or.." Ezra couldn't finish. "I know they won't do that" Ruby said hugging him for the behind and rubbed her face in his back "Shadow won't let that happen.... I won't let the happen. I love you" "I love you too, my little pup" Ezra said with a smile. "Don't call me that. We're the same age" Ruby said with a serious face and Ezra chuckled.

In the mountains
Jack and Alec ran into the den and turned into their half wolf half human form. "Jack! Alec!" they turned to see Raven run up and hugged them. They hugged back as Ash and Lucy walked up. "Alpha we bring breaking new" Jack said "Continue" "There's two shifters and.......and a Jedi". Gasps could be heard from the rest of the packs. Mothers held their kids close and whispers could be heard. "Are you certain?" Ash asked "Yes, he throw Jack into a tree" Alec said "Oh my...!" Raven said looked over her brother "Are you alright!" "I'm fine sis, no need to worry" Jack turned to Ash "Alpha, what are going to do? They most likely found the village be now". Everyone looked at their alpha and waited for an answer. "We wait. We can't go into the village. So we'll wait for them to leave and when they do. We'll be ready"

I've been waiting for this moment ever since I started this book!! Where we'll see more shifters and possibly where Ezra's, Ruby's and Shadow's secret MIGHT be revealed.
