Chapter 25

3 days later

The team was sitting in the living room and actually enjoying a day off. They just ran a smooth supply run that can last them for weeks with no trouble. "I like this" Ruby said leaning on Ezra "Me too" Sabine said putting down her data pad. Zeb and Kanan was playing a game of chess (forgot the name. Sorry) on the table while Hera and Shadow was fixing and upgrading Chopper. "So. What now?" Zeb asked after Kanan beat him for the tenths time. Zeb kept saying Kanan was using the force but Kanan denied it everytime. Kanan went to get up put felt a rush of pain in his leg and fell back onto the chair, causing Hera to rush to him and everyone on standby. "Hera,I'm fine. It's just a scratch". When the attack happened, Kanan was scratched by one of the wolves and if it wasn't for Shadow, he would've died. "Be careful love" "I know but if it wasn't for that brown wolf, I wouldn't be here today" Kanan said getting up again but slowly this time with Hera's helped. "I know and I already told Fulcrum what happened and say that we should lay low for a while"
While they were talking, Ezra, Ruby and Shadow had their own conversation in their bond. "We should tell them. They are bound to find out sooner or later" Ruby said "No, we can't" "Love I know..." Shadow interupted Ruby "He's right young one. We must wait for the perfect timing" "But Shadow" Ruby started "If not now, when? We can't hide forever and you know this" "She's right. They trust us..... Now it's time to trust them" Ezra said and ended the conversation. "So I think we should go out and relax" Ezra said "We shouldn't be in here when it's nice outside" "Ezra's right" Sabine said "I mean, we have everything here, supplies are stocked and we have no missions. When was the last time we had a day off?" "When did the empire had a day off?" Zeb said, making Sabine glare at him and mumbled "party pooper". "Beep boop boop beep" (I agree and hey, I get to power down for a while) Chopper said.
Hera smiled at her team....no family and shook her head. "Alright alright. We can go out and relax". Everyone started to make there way to the ramp when Hera told them to be prepared. They all went back, grabbed their things and walked towards the now opened ramp. Hera told Chopper to watch the ghost and locked up the ramp.

In Joe's bar

They walked into town and into Joe's bar. "Hi Joe" "Why, hello Ruby. What brings you here?" Joe asked while giving them drinks. "Oh nothing really. We thought it would be good to have a day to relax and not worry" Hera said "For once" Kanan added. "Alright. Well let me know if you want anything" Joe said walking away "Will do" Kanan said and went back to his drink. The crew talked about random things and cool stories. They actually acted like the empire never happened. Ezra was having a great time until he saw a man in a hood. The man tilted his head towards an alley and left. "Hey guys, I'll be right back" Ezra said getting up and leaving.

Ezra walked into the abandoned alley and saw the hooded person leaning on the wall. "What's wrong Max?" Ezra asked while looking around to make sure no one was listening. Max took a deep breath and said "You shouldn't be here. Ruby too" "Why?" "While you were gone, things happened" "What kinda things?" Ezra pushed "There's a small war between the Midnight Timber pack and the (Looks around and leans closer) Bloodring pack" Max whispered "They have been at it. Making threats and fighting". Ezra looked wide eyes and thought for a moment. "This is bad". They turned to see Ruby and Shadow. "What are you doing here and how much did you hear?" Max asked "Long enough" Ruby said "Max this is Shadow, Shadow this is Max. He's a old friend" "Hello" Shadow said "You shifter" "Yea, been watching these two for a while after I helped them" Shadow shook her head with a smile and crossed her arms "You two still cause trouble" They shot her a look until Ezra asked about the crew. "Oh, Zeb Challenge Kanan to drink as much as he care (Not beer or stuff like that) and by the way it looked....Zeb won" Shadow said "And Sabine recorded everything" Ruby added "Nice. Anyway back to the issue. Has the empire done anything yet?" Ezra asked Max. "Nothing.....for now, but you know them. They.." He stopped talking when the wind blow. "You smell that?" "Yea. Shadow.." Ruby started "We need to leave" "I'll see you kids around, alright. Shadow" Shadow looked at Max "Keep them safe. They are the next generation after all" Shadow nodded and Max took off, climbing the building with his claws amd jumping over to the next, than disappears. They started walked back until they saw a group of people walking towards the bar. "No no no" Shadow whispered and the three of them ran inside and towards the crew. "Hey I think we should leave, like right now" Ezra said with a fake smile. "Why?" Zeb asked "Because.." Ruby started "Because it's lovely outside and we could relax in the fields" Shadow finished. "Actually, that sounds nice" Sabine said while getting up "Beside I could use some new ideas for painting" "Alright than, leta go" Kanan said getting up as well. As they left, the group walked in and walked by. "Well well well, look at what the loth-cat dragged in" "Jason" Ezra growled. Jason was a teenage boy who was two years older the Ezra (who's 15) and had a lollipop in his mouth.

"You know him kid?" Kanan asked "Yea" Ruby answered. By the way Ezra and Ruby were looking at Jason, Shadow immediately didn't like him. "Why don't you guys meet us there, we need to talk with some old friends" Ruby said looking at Kanan first and than Jason. "I'll stay with them" Shadow said. Kanan didn't like the idea but respected their privacy when it came to talking with friends, he was in the spot before. "Fine, see you there. Com if anything and I mean anything" and the crew left.

Once they were out of ear shot Ezra went ham. "Tnaw eht kceh era uoy gniod ereh!" "Hctaw ruoy htuom yob!" Jason growled "Hey! You better watch it" Shadow growled get between Ezra and Jason. "What you going to do? Mute" Shadow stood there before giving a side punch to his face, causing him to fall on the floor. "That's what I'm going to do". The group of shifters turned and looked at Shadow. "Uoy tnaw emos oot" and the group took a step back. "Lets go" Shadow said and pushed Ezra and Ruby out, leaving Jason on the floor.

As they walked into the field, Ruby spoke up "Shadow you didn't have to do that" "I know, but I wanted too. Grown shifters know better than to yell. Especially at a pup" Ezra smiled and looked at Shadow "Thank you" "You're welcome kid" "No" Ezra stopped Shadow "I mean thank you, for everything you've done. We might have survived on our own but with you..." Ezra couldn't finish "I understand, my pups" and out of no where, Shadow pulled both of them into a hug making them jump. Seconds later, Ezra and Ruby melt into her hug and hug back. Shadow than pulled away and said "We should get going. They're waiting for us" They continue walking until they saw the crew, laughing. "What's so funny?" Ruby asked "Zeb..(laughs)..and a loth- cat, he...the cat..(laughs)" Sabine said and rolls to her side. They turned to see Zeb with bit and scratch marks and that made them smiled. "I'm don't even want to asked" Shadow said "Good 'cause I'm ain't telling" Zeb said.

"Bummer, I would like to hear what happened". They all stood and turned to see Jason in his human form and his friends in their wolf form. All but Ezra, Ruby, and Shadow stood there with wide eyes. "You'll going to pay, especially you" Jason said pointing at Shadow and shifted in his wolf form and charged.
