I woke up, on a cold, shingled roof of an Imperial Chinese Palace. I was in the cold moonlight, the background noise not necessarily quiet. The sound of cheers rung in my ears and the smell of smoke from fireworks burned my nose.
Kites and fireworks were in the air, and crowds and crowds of people stood below me, looking like ants. My white dress shimmered in the moonlight, and I stood up, my platinum white hair glistening and twinkling as it blew behind me.
"The Huns have been defeated!" A warrior cried out.
Cheers louder than before erupted from the crowd beneath me. I noticed the Emperor stand on his pedestal-like steps. His blonde hair sparkled and I scrunched my nose up.
Blonde hair? In this day and age? What the hell is this? I looked around, everything seeming ancient and old, but in a cartoonish and unrealistic way. Am I in Mulan?
A group of warrior stepped up the steps. "Ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-oooh!" A voice cooed sassily in my ear. Who the hell is this? I turn my head to stare at a tiny red dragon.
Mushu.
"Doesn't that warrior man down there with the long black hair look, mighty fine~?"
He crawled up my head as I peered down into the crowd, looking for the warrior guy with long black hair, the minute I saw him my breath hitched in my throat.
"I told you! I tooooold you! For having bad eyesight and taking so long to find him, dishonor! Dishonor on you! Dishonor on your cow!" I averted my gaze back to the small red dragon resting on my shoulders once again.
"I don't have a cow. If you're talking about my horse, it's down there." I pointed to the white horse standing at the entrance of the palace gates.
I peered back at the warrior standing on the steps, facing the Emperor. A shadow danced in the corner of my eyes, speeding across windows of the palace. You've got to be kidding me. So soon?
I started to sprint across the gates roof, just as the emperor was being kidnapped and a flying... Bunny? Swooped down and stole the sword.
A fucking pink flying bunny with wings stole the sword. What the hell is going on?
I heaved out a sigh and leapt into a window, coming face to face with the tall black haired warrior and his allies. They were just on the steps though? Ah, the wonders of Disney logic.
They pounded on the large door and tried to open them where the Emperor was kidnapped and held hostage inside. The group constantly rammed a large wooden pole, one for busting down doors, against the large red oak wood entryway. They struggled continuously and I made myself known.
"Hey, I have an idea." They looked up and their jaws dropped.
"Mulan!"
"There's no time for reintroductions, come this way," I pointed to the pillars, that stopped on the balcony of the next level.
Two twins and a brown haired male peered at me. "Trust me," I tossed them sashes that were left discarded on the floor beside me, and they caught them. The tallest warrior looked down at me, and I forced a bright blush down my throat. I passed him his sash and bowed my head.
"Get your sash, wrap it around the pillar, and slide it up and down while moving your feet to climb up. Got it?" I ordered.
I grabbed my own and wrapped it around the pillar. I grunted in the effort and slid up the pillar, wind from an open area blowing my hair and dress. Huffing I climbed over the balcony and watched as the others climbed over.
