IB is a bitch

The chaos within my house was resolved. The walls had been repainted and the stained and bloodied carpet was torn up and refurbished with a dark brown stained wood. I manoeuvred between maids and butlers, Takashi hot on my trail.
"Good work," I complimented quietly, my eyes following the paintings being re-setup onto the freshly painted walls. "How much is this going to cost?" I held back an eye roll as I climbed the steps up to the second floor, coming across more family and friend oriented pictures framed on the walls.
Maria peered at me from the front, carrying our costumes for tonight. "Probably, 76,000 yen..."
My eyebrows raised and I opened the door to my bedroom for Maria so she could set the costumes on my bed. "That little? That's only about 500 pounds. How did you get it that low?"
I sifted through the packaged costumes and pulled out Takashi's Korean flower knight costume, looking at Maria expectant for an answer.
"I have connections to a person who refurbishes buildings so I thought I might use that connection." She helped alongside me, pulling out Takashi's hair extensions, the wig no longer of use, and brushed them out.
I pulled out a long white traditional Japanese robe and a heavy bag of makeup, setting them aside. "Well, that's good. More money can go to fixing up my ruined garden outside," my voice hit a low grumble of annoyance.
Tucking strands of my dyed white hair behind my ear, I pulled out colour contacts (which I was not looking forward too) and multiple other white based foundations. For Halloween, I had decided to dress as a form of Japanese Yokai, a Yuki Onna. Typically considered a Japanese ghost. I read up about them being either benign or deadly beings that prey on humans, so I guess if I really wanted to scare this shit out of anyone I might as well dress up as that.
I heaved a sigh and pulled out some hair scissors and black hair dye.
"Are you going to cut your hair?" Takashi's deep voice broke the shuffling silence and I clutched the scissors in my hand tighter.
"Yes."
Maria's eyes flashed while I pulled off my button up shirt, leaving on the white tank top underneath. "I was hoping to cut my hair to shoulder length because it's a bit too long. Maybe cut my bangs back a bit and try to restyle them too?"
"Aki," Maria heaved, "your hair is down to your thighs, do you know how long it'll take for it to get that long again?"
"Yes, a long time but it's better in the long run," I slipped the underrobe on and watched as another maid clipped in the hair extensions for Takashi, I looked back at Maria, "less to struggle with."
I stayed in the underrobe and allowed Maria to pull me into the bathroom, taking the dye and the scissors with her. "Are you sure you want to cut your hair?" I nodded in response and clutched my clothing while she brushed and snipped at my hair, exceedingly quick.
Within ten minutes of fast snipping, she was already prepping the black hair dye. Masses of blonde and white hair littered the floor below me, what looked like a bed of snow graced around my feet. My poor hair. My poor beautiful hai—
"Yah!" I jumped at the feeling of ice cold water running down the back of my neck and I grabbed a towel quickly, rubbing the clinging icy wetness that threatened to run down my spine.
"Relax. The dye calls for cold water then hot water so I'm only doing as follows." I grunted in acknowledgement and relaxed as she said, almost falling asleep until hot water blasted at the back of my head and successfully allowed me to feel as if I had a fucking bonfire on my head
