On the way home I stayed silent as my tears rolled down my face and the wind constantly hit my face.

"Pez."

I turn my head to Luke as he stopped at a red light.

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to go somewhere?"

"Uh i don't know," I sniffle. "What's up?"

Luke chuckled, "Pez you just went through a whole lot of crap back there. As a best friend I need to make sure you're always a happy little sunshine. Right?"

"I guess," I giggle. "Where are you taking me though?"

"A place I used to go to when my mum got on my nerves," he chuckled. "It's safe. I promise."

"Ok." I nod.

When the light above us flashed green Luke drove away to where he wanted to take me.

I guess I really needed sometime away from all this. A short escape wouldn't hurt anybody. If Jade keeps acting that way then I guess whatever we had is long gone.

My eyes open as soon as I felt the car stop. "Are we here?" I ask as I rub my eyes.

"We sure are," Luke laughed. " You missed a lot of great views."

"I can always see them on the way home." I laugh as I take in the view before me.

"True," he laughed. " So do you like it?" he smiled.

"No. I love it." I answer as I step foot out of the car and met up with Luke by the curb.

"It's not much but it made me happy."

"You did this all alone?" I ask as I face him.

"Sadly yes," he nodded. "But not today." he smiled.

"Well it's a pleasure to be your company today," I smile. " Or any day to be honest."

"Let's go?" he asked as he offered me his hand.

"Sure am."

I intertwined my fingers with his as he slowly led me to the beach before us. It was beautiful to see all this with only very few people around.

"You do realise my shoes will be filled with sand right?"

He looked at me confused before he looked down at my feet.

"Oh."

"Exactly."

"Don't worry about your sandals," he smiled. "I know how to handle this."

"What are you talking a - "

Suddenly I felt my body get lifted from the dock and was now hanging over his shoulders.

"Am I not heavy?" I ask with concern.

"Not a tad bit Edwards."

"If you say so," I tell him. "Be aware that I'm not paying for your injuries if you get hurt."

"Well that's highly unlikely."

"Ok. But if you drop me I swear I will slice your throat."

"Ouch. I must be such a special best friend am I not?"

"Just hurry up Hemmotron."
