Chapter Sixteen (Shopping)

Bella's POV

A few hours after Edward told my mother about what he was and what had actually happened in Phoenix, my mother decided to take me shopping and out to lunch afterwards. Edward had to stay at the house for obvious reasons, if he took one step outside his skin would be sparkling diamonds and people would figure out he wasn't human. I was glad Edward wasn't able to come with us because I wanted to get some lingerie without Edward knowing. I waited until we were about five miles away from the house before I asked my mother, "Can we stop at Victoria's Secret?" My mother gave me a knowing look and said, "Sure Bella." Then she asked, "Are you trying to get Edward to do it with you?" I groaned and said, "Mom, do you really just ask me that?" She smirked at me and said, "Yes, I did." I just shook my head at her, I never expected her to say something like that. 

Due to the traffic we arrived at the mall thirty minutes later, my mother informed me, "Their's a Victoria's Secret inside the mall." I replied, "Okay mom." We got out of the car and headed inside the mall, we hit K-mart first and my mother started giggling when we headed down a certain isle. I picked up a box of condoms and looked it over to find out it was for men, I tossed because I thought he could just wear it and my mom continued laughing. I rolled my eyes at her and said, "I don't want to get pregnant, before I marry him." She asked me, "What about the honeymoon?" I told her, "Now, that's a different story." She started laughing at me again, I swear she just acted like a child sometime.

After about spending an half an hour at K-mart, we headed over to Macy's, we looked at the clothes and some of the purses. My mother offered to buy me some clothes and I excepted, otherwise she wouldn't have stopped asking until I said yes. My mother followed me over to the night gowns and wriggled her eyebrows at me, I just rolled my eyes at her for the third time today and I knew it wasn't going to be the last time. Someone whistled at me when I held a black one against as I wanted my mother's opinion, I turned sharply and let out a low growl. As the guy walked away he mumbled under his breath, "Feisty, I like that."  My mother looked at me with shock clearly written on her face, she didn't expect that kind of reaction from me. Right now I wished I could read minds like Edward, I wanted to know if I should be on alert about that guy. My mother said, "I think Edward would like to see you in that one." I told her, "I know he will," then I placed it in the cart and we continued looking around the store for about an half an hour. I got a few new tops in the colors blue, red, and purple; also  a couple more night gowns in both black and dark purple.

We decided to place out stuff we had bought already in the trunk, before we made a stop in the restroom. I heard my mother scream just after she entered the stall, I sniffed the air and smelt the scent of a human male immediately. I yanked the door right off the stall and grabbed the same guy who whistled at me earlier by the neck, I had him pinned against the wall in a flash and had him a few inches off the ground gasping for air. I growled at him, "You sick sadistic bastard! You're a low-life and I should kill you for what you tried to do to my mother!" I threw him to the other side of the stall,he hit his head on the wall and dropped to the floor as he began bleeding a little bit from his head. I walked towards him and placed hand on upper right leg, then gave it a tight squeeze until I heard his femur snap and he started screaming in pain. I grabbed a hold of her hand and got her out of their as fast as I could, I told her, "Let's go use the family one instead." My mother nodded her head in agreement and followed me inside the restroom, I quickly locked the door behind us.

Five minutes later we headed over to the Victoria's Secret department store inside the mall, my mother hadn't mentioned about what happened in the first restroom we went in early. My mother had seen my dark side, she has never seen that side of me before. I said to her, "I hope you aren't afraid of me, I was trying to protect you from him." My mother stated, "I'm not scared of you, you just scared the heck out of me because I've never seen your dark side before." I told her, "I really didn't develop until Edward left me last year, when my world was turned up-side-down due to his own stupidity." My mother informed me, "All men are stupid when it comes to love, Bella." I started laughing at, she was right about that.

My mother started giggling again when spotted some furry handcuffs, I rolled my eyes at her again and took another look at them. I told my mom, "I bet Alice has seen me buying these things, I got this idea from Emmett. My mother asked me, "How?" I responded, "He put a black night gown in my suitcase, when I showed it to Edward lust shown in his eyes. I'm not going to say what else happened, when my towel fell from me. My mother started giggling again and asked, "Really?" I replied, "Yes, I could tell he definitely enjoyed it." While my mother continued laughing herself silly, I pulled a few revealing night gowns of the racks and tried them on in the dressing room. I decided I liked all four of them, Alice had given me my own credit card and I would be able to get them. I came out of the dressing room, after I put my close back on and placed the lingerie in the cart.

After about spending a whole hour in Victoria's Secret, I paid my things with the credit car and it costed a little over five hundred dollars, which was way under the limit Alice had set for me. Then we headed over to the Chinese restaurant on the other side of the mall, we were seated instantly and were handed menus.  After we ordered and received our drinks, my mother asked, "So you promised Edward you would search for him if he ever went missing?" I replied, "Yes, I did." Then she asked, "How did you know the Volturi took him?" I responded, "I had a vision a few days before his disappearance of Alice and Edward not remembering Jasper and I in front of the Volturi, then when I found both of their phones the day they disappeared I had a vision the three Volturi members taking my Edward and Alice." My mother said, "Oh okay."

A few minutes later she asked, "How did you figure you were able to fight vampires?" I responded with a grin, "I threw Emmett into a tree when I was trying to track where Edward was kidnapped from, he just wouldn't listen to me when I told him to leave me alone." She asked, "Did he leave you alone after that?" I replied, "Yepp, when I came back to the Cullen's place Emmett acted like he was scared of me and they gave him a strange look." Then she asked, "How did Edward act towards you when you found him in Italy?" I answered hesitantly, "Very...lustful." I glared at her as she started laughing at me, I told her, "He didn't even remember me and he acted like he was going to jump me in front of the other vampires." Our lunch was placed in front of us ten minutes later, we began eating quickly.

Edward's POV

Bella and her mother had been gone for nearly four hours, it was a little after two when they pulled into the driveway. I couldn't believe how many bags they pulled out of the trunk, a lot of them were from Victoria's Secret and I bet Bella had bought them. Bella spotted me and smiled brightly at me, then she gave me a look that made me want her badly. I opened the door for them and they walked inside, they set the bags on the floor. Her mother said with a smirk, "Here you go Bella, here's your box of condoms." Bella rolled her eyes at her and said, "Very funny, mom," she placed it inside one of the Victoria's Secret bags.

Renee told me, "The dark side of Bella can be really frightening, I found that out today." Bella glared at her but she continued, "Some guy whistled at her and she just growled at him, then took care of him when he attacked me in the women's bathroom at the mall." I asked them, "Are the both of you okay?" Bella rolled her eyes at me and said, "We're fine, but that guy isn't." I asked her, "What did you do to him?" She replied, "I threw him across the bathroom stall, caused his head to bleed a little, and broke his right femur." I said with a grin, "That's my vampire slayer."

She rolled her eyes playfully at me again and picked up her bags, which was almost all of them and left only three for her mother and none of them were from Victoria's Secret. I just had the feeling that Bella would try to seduce me later, she could try and she wouldn't succeed because I wanted to save our first time before the honeymoon. Bella muttered under her breath as she walked up the stairs, "You're going to get it good tonight, Edward." I told her, "Think again, Bella." She paused and turned around to say to me, "You'll see, I will get you to change your mind." I yelled with a grin, "Keep dreaming Bella." Bella retorted, "You're the one who should keep dreaming if you think I'm going to wait until our honeymoon to make love to you." Her mother had been standing a few feet away from me and had heard the entire conversation, she had started laughing at me. Bella continued heading up the stairs to the bedroom we were sharing, I heard her close the door behind her and started putting her things away.
