Chapter Twenty-One (A Frightening Conversation)

Alice's POV

I waited five days before I was able to talk to Bella alone without Edward hearing our conversation, the only time he left her to be alone was when he went hunting. I didn't know how Bella would react, when I told her what I saw of her future. She might be overjoyed at first, but when I reached the part of where I couldn't see her future anymore I just don't know how she will react. She knows I can't see pass the pack of wolves, so she'll most likely will try to see her future for herself. I just hope she sees a better future for herself because Edward would want to die if she did, he would most likely go to the wolves and have them kill him.

I pulled in behind behind Bella's red truck; Edward wanted to get her a car, but she kept refusing and Edward just plain gave up on asking. I turned my yellow porshe off and took a few unneeded breaths, before getting out of the car and approached the front door. I knocked a few times and waited for Bella to answer the front door, she was the only one currently home because Charlie was at work. Bella answered the door with a smile and I tried to smile back, but I miserably failed at it. Bella asked me concerned, "What's wrong, Alice." I asked her, "Can I come in, Bella? I need to tell something and it's really important." She responded, "Okay, Alice."

I followed Bella into the living room and sat next her on the couch, a took another unneeded breath again. Bella asked me hesitantly, "What is it that you need to tell me, Alice?" I told her straight out, "I need to tell you what I saw of your future." That got her attention and she came alerted that I might of saw something bad; the problem is that I didn't see anything at all after a certain point. Bella asked emotionless, "What did you see, Alice." I told her, "Well, Edward gets you pregnant on the honeymoon, you saw yourself with a small baby bump. Then I saw you like a few weeks later looking a little pale and malnourished, the baby seemed to be draining all of your energy. After that I saw a quick glance of you looking heathier again, we must of somehow figured out what the baby needed and you regained your strength back." Then I looked away from her and said, "You future becomes fuzzy, I can't see your future when it comes to the birth of the baby."

Bella remained silent for a minute before asking, "Do you think the wolves might be blocking your view of my future?" I replied, "It's possible Bella, but I can't figure it out because I can't see passed those damn mutts." She said, "I suppose you want me to check my future, don't you." I responded, "Yes Bella, I want to know if you'll survive the pregnancy because I'm worried about Edward's future as well." Bella asked, "Are you afraid Edward will go to the wolves and asked them to kill him if I don't survive?" I replied honestly, "Yes Bella, that's what I'm afraid of." She told me, "What ever I see, I don't want Edward to know about it." I told her, "I understand Bella, you want to tell him yourself if it's good news."

Bella's POV

I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes before saying, "Here goes nothing." A few seconds later I was pulled into a vision, but I had my visions a different way then Alice does. First, I saw myself looking at my stomach in a mirror some place I had never been before and saw I had a small baby bump. Second, I was at the Cullen's home further alone in my pregnancy, I looked pale and sink and could make out my bones under my skin. Then I see myself looking healthier and drinking some kind of red liquid, it was blood and Jacob had a disgusted expression on his face as he watched me drink it. Then my body twisted a certain way, I knew the baby needed to come out as soon as possible. Next, I saw Edward take a chunk out of me because the knife wouldn't penetrate my stomach, he pulled out a beautiful baby girl. After I had the baby in my arms my surroundings turned dark, a few minutes later I felt I was on fire on the inside and then I knew I was going through the transformation of becoming a vampire. Then I saw myself with bright red eyes and hunting with Edward, he looked like he wanted to jump me.

Alice asked me when I opened my eyes again, "What did you see, Bella?" I told her, "You don't have to worry Alice, I saw myself as a vampire." Then she asked me, "Did you see any werewolves hanging around?" I told her, "I saw Jacob Black, but I didn't see any of the other ones." She let out a sigh of relief, she was glad I actually didn't die during the birth." Alice asked me with a little too much enthusiasm, "Did you see if it's a boy or a girl?!" I rolled my eyes at her and said, "Yes, I did." She commanded, "Tell me if it's going to be a boy or girl!" I replied, "Only if you promised not to tell Edward, I want it to be a surprise." She chanted over again, "I promise! I promise! I promise! I promise! I...." I yelled, "Calm down, Alice!"

Alice immediately shut up and took a few breaths to calm herself down, then I told her, "I'm going to have a baby girl." She squealed so loud it hurt my ears, I slapped her on the shoulder harshly and growled out, "For goodness sake, calm down Alice!" She rubbed her shoulder as if I had hurt her, I smiled in satisfaction. Alice asked me, "What is she going to look like?" I replied with a grin, "I'm not going to tell you, that will remain a secret until she is born." She groaned in frustration and I just laughed at her when she tried to give me her best pout, I told her, "That's not going to work on me, Alice."

All of sudden Alice got off the couch and said, "Edward's going to be here in a few minutes, I'll see you later. She took off running out of the front door, I heard her car started up a few seconds later and the screeching of her tires as she took off speeding to the Cullen's place. I just could help but laugh at her because how demanding she got, when she wanted to know if the baby was a girl or a boy. I knew Edward was getting close when his thoughts entered my mind, I had a mind reading range about five to seven miles at best.

Edward's POV

Bella opened the door just as I approached the front door, she smiled brightly at me and said, "I told you not to rush yourself, but I can see that you didn't listen me." I replied, "Well, I wanted to with you again as soon as possible." She said, "I know that, but you at least make sure you are completely full before coming back to me." I asked her jokingly as we walked to the living room, "Are you afraid that I'm going to have a sudden lust for blood and attack you?" She rolled her eyes at me before replying, "No, I just don't want you to be thirsty."

After I sat down I pulled Bella onto my lap and asked, "What did you do while I was gone?" She answered, "I had an interesting conversation with your sister Alice, she was panicking over nothing." I asked her, Why was Alice distressed?" Bella told me flat out, "She saw my pregnancy and couldn't see my future afterwards." I asked her a more that a little alarmed, "What?! How can you easily brush off your future disappearing just like that?!" She slapped me hard across the face and yelled, "Calm down, Edward! I checked out my future for myself already!"

I took a few needed breaths and asked, "I saw our baby, your the one who's going to get the baby out of me when it's time. I might of died for a few minutes, but then I feel the burn of the vampire venom in my system. The last thing I saw was us hunting together, my eyes were bright red." I pulled her in for a hug and said, "I'm glad your going to survive the pregnancy, I love you so much Bella." She stated, "I love you too, Edward." Then she told me, "It's going to be a short pregnancy, it won't last longer than two months at the most." I smiled at her said, "Okay Bella, I'll tell Carlisle that tomorrow."

Bella hoped off my lap suddenly and made her towards, then she looked at me and gave me a come hither look. I definitely knew what she wanted to do, she asked me, "Did you bring any protection with you, Edward?" I replied with a sly smile, "I always do, just in case." Then I gave her that predatory type of look and she took off running up the stairs laughing, I was right behind her a few second later. I swept off her feet and carried her inside her room, then I gave her the time of her life for the next two hours.
