When I woke up my hand was throbbing, but I tried to nor the pain and figure out where I was. I was lying on the couch. I looked around more and listen to the best I could through the pounding in my head. I could hear somebody breathing. At first I thought it was me, but I noticed the rhythm was wrong. I kept looking, and I saw Rogue asleep on the floor. "Rogue?" I set up a nudged him with my foot. "Wake up." He grunted and rolled over. The pain in my hand but some of them bearable now, "Please wake up, I think I need to go to the hospital."

He sat up, "Hospital, why?" He got up and turned the light on "Woah! Crimson, your hand."

I looked down at my hands that I could now see was an array of dark blues and purples. "I think it might be broken." I said with the weak laugh. I looked back up at him and noticed he had a black eye "What happened to you?"

"Oh, my brother thought I had knocked you out and smuggled you here. He hit me, and I guess I must've passed out on the floor." He absent mindedly scratched his head and grinned.

"Wait, Jays back from military school?" I felt my eyes light up as I jumped off the couch and started towards Jay's bedroom.

Rogue grabbed my arm, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"Why not?"

He gave me a strange look, a mix of secrecy and desperation. "Well... He's changed."

"Changed? How?"

Rogue let out a sigh and let me go, "See for yourself, I guess."

I smiled and went into Jay's room. "Jay?" He was lying in his bed with his back towards me. "Hey, wake up.. It's been so long since I've seen you!"

I shook him awake. "C'mon Sarah, I'm trying to sleep. You can see me in the morning, can't you?"

I moved over to the lamp and turned it on, "Actually, I can't, I think my hand is broken."

He gave a defeated sigh, "Alright, go back out I'll just be a minute."

"Thanks!" I left the room, shutting the door behind me. Rogue was sitting in the kitchen. He stood up when I came in.

"You see him?"

"Why are you do insistent that I don't see him?"

He looked like he had just gotten slapped. "I never said that exactly Crimson. The only thing I really meant to say was he had changed. He sat back down with a small grunt, looking at me.

"How has he changed?" I stepped closer to him, "You say he had changed, but you haven't given any way he had changed." He sat silently looking at me. "God, you're so annoying!" I felt my voice rising but I didn't care.

"I'm atheist, I don't know who that is." He gave me a smirk and it was really getting to me.

"Jerk." The word came out before I could catch it, but I was too angry to take it back.

"Excuse me?!" He stood up, tightening his hands into fists at his sides. "You're saying I'm a jerk? That's a laugh! Tell me, how many of my calls have you ignored? How many times have I come over and you pretended you weren't home?"

I was stunned. "That's out of context." I managed to say, "we aren't talking about the past, we are talking about now. Remember what you've told me so many times before? 'Forget the past, forget the future, think only of now.' what happened to that?" I was on  the verge of tears. "All I did was ask a simple question."

"You're so stubborn Crimson, it's really starting to bother me. I think you have made it clear enough that you don't like me, and since I'm so, 'annoying' as you put it, I think you should get out of my house!"

The tears came before I could stop them. "I never said I didn't like you." My voice was just above a whisper. "And I will get out of your house just as soon as your friggin' brother gets his butt up out of his stupid bed!"

"Woah Sarah, you're still as frisky as ever I see." The voice sounded calm and familiar, though, I wasn't able to place it. Before I had the chance to see who had spoken, I found myself being pulled from behind my two tan, muscular arms around my waist.
I turned around quickly, feeling trapped. Even when I turned around I couldn't see who was holding me, all I could see was a tattooed chest. I looked up and saw Jay smiling down at me. His smile faded when he saw I was crying. He held me closer, "Your hand is really broken, isn't it? I've never seen you cry before Sarah." He spoke in a hushed tone that calmed me a little. All I was able to do was nod my head, not wanting to really lie. I wasn't crying about my hand, even though it really hurt. I was crying about the fact that road was really mad at me. It was the first time he yells at me, and it shocked me. After about five minutes trying to stop crying, I calm down a bit. It suddenly came to me that Jay still wasn't wearing a shirt. I pulled away as fast as I could.

"Geez Crimson, you couldn't have been any more subtle." Roque was laughing. I thought my face start to heat up, but when I looked towards him he stopped laughing and looked at me really seriously.

"Jay, we should really get going." I turned and looked at him, my heart nearly stopped. He grown about a foot over the summer, and she had gained a bit of muscle. He had a dragon tattoo on his left shoulder that went all the way to his chest. I must've been staring too long because Rogue started yelling at Jay.

"What the hell do you think you're doing coming out here dress like that?! Then you hugs Sarah like that, she isn't a baby anymore. Don't treat her like one." I laughed a little at that. "And you," Rogue turned to me and I stop laughing instantly. "You let him hug you like that? I figured you were better than that, but you gave in!"

"Dude, calm your kittens. The hug didn't mean anything. She was crying, and I didn't see you making a move to help her stop. Besides, it's not like she's your girlfriend or anything." I couldn't see anything, though I had to remember his kittens remark. That was going to be held against him for a long time. Even though Jay's look had changed, his personality had stayed the same. He looked over to me, "Sarah, go get in the car and wait for me, I'll be right out."
I reluctantly walked out of the house, and got into the car. Later, Jay came out and she had a shirt on. "Thank God", I thought. A second after Jay walked out of the house, Rogue followed him looking grudgingly at the back of his brothers head. They both got into the car Jay in the driver seat, and Rogue in the passenger seat behind mine.

"All right then," Jay said in an overly excited voice, looking over to me. "Let's get you to the hospital!"
