Apparently my first day school couldn't be any less normal. Lexi sat there beside me silently, it seemed like she was barely even breathing.

During the first bit of class Mr. Johnson talked about the classroom and told us where to find stuff. After that we had the rest of the class for free draw and chatting. During that time, I talked to Mike and Evergreen. I told them about my day so far, (leaving out the creature, of course) and they told me about their day. Apparently Mike figured out what Ever meant  by "more than friends" and they were a couple.

Another thing I did during that time was sketch picture of the horrible beast that I was sure with haunt my dreams forever. Lexi seem to be calming down near the end of the class. She stopped shaking, and her breath was back to normal. I attempted to talk to her but she didn't say anything. She just looked at me with fear still in her eyes, and I knew her life would never be the same again. I knew that the monster would also never leave her memory the rest of her life. At that moment I figured out what I was going to do when I met Rogue after school. Now all I needed was support, and the note I got didn't mention anything about coming alone, so I would bring Lexi with me.

I turned to her, "Lexi if there is a way to kill that creature, would you be willing to help?" Some of the fear left her eyes and she nodded showing me she would. I smiled at her and said, "Good, follow me into the woods after class, be sure to stand strong. I'm not sure what will happen but don't show anything but determination."

For a moment she opened her mouth to speak, because again nodding silently. After that I started working on a new picture. This was of a wolf, facing it's on pack alone. Sometimes when the odds are against you keep fighting. The odds were against me and I was determined to keep fighting. I looked over at Lexi and she looked at me. I noticed all  fear had left her eyes, and she was, in fact, showing nothing but determination. Before the bell rang Lexi hugged me and actually said she was sorry. It took me by surprise. She had never apologize to me before, let alone hugged me!

When she let me go, she looked into my eyes and said very seriously, "Now. Let's go and do our best to make that creature go back to the pits of hell." That also took me by surprise. I didn't think she knew she was getting into, but before I was able to tell her the final bell rang.

No more fighting it, as I walked out of the school with Lexi by my side, I didn't have a single second thought about what I was going to do. So much for normal...
