I had fallen asleep waiting for the doctor. When he came in, I almost hit him trying to fully wake up. "Calm down Miss Takani, it's all right." The doctor spoke in a low soothing voice I was fully awake and looking at them.
"So, your doctor...?"
He smiled, but his eyes still held concern. "I'm Dr. March." It seem to think for a moment, "Do you have any nightmares often?"
My head slightly. "What does this have to do with a broken hand? Shouldn't we get x-rays done?"
He shook his head, as of trying to get rid of some fog in his brain. "Ah yes, silly me. I almost forgot. Write this way." He let me down the hall. I hated hospital hallways, they felt like they were never ending. He turned into a room near the end of the hall and I followed him in. I saw a small room inside with the computer. He had me sit on the table in the main room. While I am doing some minor adjustments, I want you to take off your jacket, any bracelets and metal items you may be wearing."
I nodded, I took off my jacket and all my bracelet. "I was just wondering... Why did you ask me if I have nightmares often?"
He smiled, "Just the way you woke up. You nearly took me out." That was totally a lie. I sighed and tried to ignore it.
"All right, Dr. March, could you please take the x-Ray so I can leave?" He shook his head again, something was wrong. I stood up and started towards him. The room started to get darker.
"Okay, time for a new game."
I looked around. "That sounded like Leo..."
"Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Let's show her what she's won." Leo was sitting in the computer booth, Dr. March was standing beside him, but his eyes were vacant and glazed over.
"seriously? You know, you're really starting to annoy me."
He faked a pout. "Awe, how am I annoying you?"
I glared at him. "You must think I'm stupid. I know what you are doing."
He smiled and stepped out of the booth. "Really now? I'm curious, what a my doing?" His eyes flashed a little darker as he came towards me. "You know, this is it like before. You don't have your phone so you can alert that thorn in my side that you call Rogue." He laughed a bit. "Don't you think it's odd that he showed up less than five minutes after you sent that message?" I didn't say anything, it felt like the room is spinning. "What? Have you arty run out of smart things to say?" He reached out and grabbed my wrist. "I can fix this you know." I backed up, pulling my arm away. I still couldn't speak, so I thought instead.
"I don't know what you are, but you're the one who's been causing my nightmares."
"Close, but no cigar. I don't cause nightmares, I just feed off of them. Good thinking though." I sighed. "Oh, how rude of me. Have a seat, I'll explain."
A chair slid quickly across the floor behind me. I was forced to sit in it by what felt like hands on my shoulders, though nobody was touching me. "Why can't I speak?" I glared at him, searching his eyes for answers I wanted without having to listen to his voice. He was inside my head, sifting through my thoughts and memories.
"Well, you can't speak because I don't want you to try to scream for help." He grinned, noticing the look I was giving him. "But from what I can tell, you're not that type." He looked around quickly. "Okay, you can talk." I mediately started yelling at him. He seemed to be ignoring everything I was saying because he just laughed and it looked like his seriousness had left, but I could tell it would just take one Brong word from the turn again, but for now he seemed excited as a Pyro on the Fourth of July. "Man, you're the first person I have ever told about this! Come on, ask me about it." He was practically jumping up and down.
I sighed. "Alright, I'll go along with this for now. What do you think you're going to do it Rogue finds out and decides to come after you?"
"I haven't given it much thought, but I'm sure you won't figure it out for a while." He got quiet and looked at the door. "Looks like rogue in the older guy are looking for you. But, before they get here I'm going to try something." I watched him as he concentrated for a few moments, and very faintly in the back of my mind I heard his voice and then it got louder, and I could understand what he was saying. "Can you hear me Sarah?"
I looked at him and nodded, "Yeah."
"Great! Now I can communicate you whenever I want to."
I sighed and stood up. "Yeah, but what are you going to do about this?" I shoved my hand in his face and he winced a little.
"Well, if you want it to be fixed fast, I can inject some of my blood into you to speed up the healing process, other than that I can't do anything."
I thought about this for a few moments, but decided against it. "Sorry, I wouldn't want to take the chance of becoming you."
"Find then, Norco it is!" He rolled his eyes and turned to walk out of the room. "Just joking, I take good care of my toys." And with that, he was gone.
