It was a cool night in early September, Rogue and I decided that we were going to stay in for the night and play games or watch a movie. I hurried home and when I walked in the door I smell something cooking, or more specifically, it's not something burning. "Rogue?" I dropped my stuff by the door and went into the kitchen where I saw him putting out a fire on the stove. I started laughing as he got the last of it to go out. He turned to look at me with a goofy grin on his face.
"Hey Crimson, sorry about the fire. I'm not good at cooking but I figured I could give it a shot since you've been letting me crash here."
I stop laughing and pulled out my phone. "No problem, I'll just order a pizza." After the pizza gotten delivered Rogue asked what can we would be playing. "Do you prefer board games, card games, or video games" I got up off the couch and pulled out a few games, "I love need for speed, grand theft auto, and big game hunter, or for board games I have shoots and ladders, chess, checkers, and I also have card games; cards against humanity, apples to apples, spoons, and just regular playing cards. What would you like to do?"
Well, depends on what you want to do." He picked up the games and stuck them in a pile in the middle of the room. "I know you don't really like video games, so we can rule those out." He piled video games and slid them across the floor away from us. "In my opinion, board games are boring. So, we are doing any of those." He pushed away the board games and moved onto the card games inside, "Crimson, let's just watch a movie, okay?"
"What kind of movie do you want to watch? I have a lot of Horror, but I also have comedy, drama, and action." I went over to the movie standing grabbed one from each genre and walked back to Rogue. "Just to make the decision easier I have; Halloween, Grownups, and Avatar. I didn't choose a drama because I don't really care for that much." I handed them to him and backed up. "You choose."
He looked at them for a couple minutes then decided on Avatar. "Let's watch this, I haven't seen it in a while and it's one of my favorites." He said the others back on the shelf and turned on the TV putting the movie in the DVD player.
"Hey Rogue, can I ask you a question?" I found the couch looking at him. He stopped setting up the movie and turned to look at me.
"Yeah, go ahead and ask away."
"Alright, in that case, I have more than one question. First, why are you even here in the first place? Does Jay know you're here?"
He turned away and finish starting the movie, then replied, "I told Jay I would be staying at a friends house for a while, and what better place is there to be than here?"
I sighed and got more comfortable on the couch. "OK, next question, why did you even ask me to come back?" I watched as he stood up and turned to look at me, a serious expression had taken over his nonchalant one that he had worn only moments before.
"I figured that question would come up sooner or later. That's another reason I'm here. I guess I should have explained earlier though." He walked over and sat in the floor in front of me, his expression softening slightly. For a couple of seconds we just say there in silence, the only sound in the room was the television, which was playing the previews for upcoming movies at the time the movie was made. "Alright, here's the thing, during the summer a lot of strange things started happening around town. Mirrors breaking, things going missing, and I noticed more and more people talking about nightmares That's usually your department. I figured you would have noticed too, have you?"
I thought for a moment before answering, remembering how Leo acted before and knowing what it was. "I have noticed, and I know who's causing it, but you don't really need me to tell you, do you?"
