Chapter 2

I managed to figure out how to get to Diagon Alley.
"Ali,what books do you need," asked my mom.
I opened the envelope again and pulled the list. The list said:
Uniform
First year students will require:
~three sets of plain work robes(black)
~one plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
~one fair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
~one winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Course books
All students should have a copy of each of the following
~ The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by: Miranda Goshawk
~ A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
~Magical Theory by Aldabert Waffling
~A Beginners Guide to Transfiguration by Emerick Switch
~One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore
~Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger
~Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
~The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble
I read the course books out loud to her and we walked into a shop called Flourish and Blotts. I accidentally walked into a boy about my age who has slicked back blond hair.
"HEY MUDBLOOD WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING," yelled the boy.
"S-sorry," I mumbled. I quickly walked away feeling embarrassed because I walked into a pureblood.
I got my books and went into the owl emporium. I got a beautiful red owl, which I named Phoenix.
I walked into Ollivander's wand shop.
A old man with bushy white hair hopped down from a ladder. Mom started to look nervous.
"Ah! Another Hogwarts student! What might be your name young lady," asked the man.
"I-im Ali Graves. Who are you," I asked him back.
"Why I'm Ollivander of course! Let me guess you're here for a wand?"
He handed me a wand and said,"This wand is made of spruce. The core is dragon heartstring. It is 12" long. And it has a pliant flexibility."
I pick up the wand and my hair started to swish around my face.
"Is this my wand," I asked Ollivander.
He said yes and we bought the wand.
Then we went to a store for magical pets and got me a calico cat that I named Ginger. We left Diagon Alley after we had gotten everything that I needed.
