I looked around at the yet again familiar surroundings, but realized that something about this region was more... Frightening. The volcano was so immense, and I was climbing it, to go save a rock eating race of rock people from flightless dragons?!?

Yep, that pretty much summed it up. This was my life now, saving Hyrule.... I never thought Hyrule would actually depend on me...

"Hey! Come on, Betsy! Link is way ahead of us, and you never know what trouble he could get into!" Tatl yelled at me from the blocked entrance to Dodongo's Cavern.

"Yeah, sorry. I was lost in thought." Link had already killed the Red Tektites that dotted this trail, so I ran up and turned, heading towards Goron City.

"Hey, Navi, what's that?" I heard Link ask, and I picked up my pace. He was up in that corner.

"A bomb flower." She replied, and my eyes got wide. Crap! Link might pick it up!!

"Cool!" He said, leaning over.

"LINK, NO!!!" I yelled, and he looked over at me.

"Hmm? Why not?" He asked.

"It's a bomb!!! As in, it will blow you up!!! So, don't touch it, well, yet. You can pluck it later, okay?!?" I waved my hands, and stepped in front of him.

"Yeah, whatever you say, mom." He rolled his eyes. That made me mad. Really mad. My look turned cross, and he automatically looked like he regretted what he had just said.

I pointed my finger at him, pushing it forward and taking a step further as he backed up. "Now you listen, Link! I may not have been in this world as long as you have, but I am older than you and wiser than you! On top of that, I've been playing the games based on this world since I was 5 years old!!! That's 8 years of experience in the entire world! All you have is 7 years of experience in Kokiri Forest!!! And yes, I am trying to keep you safe, but in no way am I trying to mother you!!! And if you knew what I know about you and your mother, you wouldn't dare say anything about moms! I just don't want to see you blow yourself up and die, Link!! I'm just trying to help you NOT KILL YOURSELF! So.... Just listen to what I say and I promise you, when you are an adult, I'll back off! But for now, I'm the more experienced one in this little group, so... JUST DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED, OKAY?!?!?!" I realized I'd just blown up on him, and that he was in the very corner and had there not been a fence he would have fallen off. I looked down, a little ashamed with myself. "I'm sorry..." Tears swelled up in my eyes. I had no right to yell at this.... This child like I had. "I just... I know the dangers of this world, and how important you will become to it, and I don't... No, not don't, can't... Let you get hurt. Fate depends on us, understand? We can't let Zelda down, and I don't think I can do all this without you. So, just be careful, please?" I half smiled at him, an he hugged me, which shocked me more than waking up as Ganondorf had.

"I'll be careful, Bets. But if I'm as important as you say I am, I'm going to have to take some risks, right?" He smiled at me.

"Yeah, just not anything stupid. Ok, Link?"

"Like picking up a bomb flower?" He asked.

I laughed a little. "Yeah. Like picking up a bomb flower."

We walked into Goron City smiling. Even Tatl and Navi could see it. Something, some kind of love was growing between me and Link. Whether it was the kind of love that comes from friendship, being siblings, or... Something more... I had no idea. We'd just have to wait and find out.

Link was shocked when he saw the first Goron, in fact, he tried slashing at it, thinking it was an enemy. I laughed, and walked up to the Goron, and it sat up. Link stared at it, hiding his sword.

"Hello. My name is Betsy, and this is Link. We are here in search of the Spiritual Stone of Fire. Do you have any idea where we could find it?" I asked politely.

"Well, the last place I saw it would be out on that platform in the center." The Goron replied, pointing.

"Thanks." I told it, and it curled back up into its ball.

"So, Link, you want to do something brave? Something that might seem stupid, but, is actually pretty much safe?" I asked him, and he thought for a few seconds before nodding. "Alright! We have to go out there on that platform. And, what would the only way over be?"

Link looked around. "The ropes! We have to walk across the ropes!" I smiled.

"Yes!" I had realized that he needed to use his brain and not rely on me constantly. So, I was going to gradually try to get him to think things out on his own. "Come on now, let's go!" I ran around until I found a rope, and Link tried to follow me. "Nuh-uh! Go find your own! My weight plus yours on one rope might not be such a good idea. Okay? Go get on that one."

He nodded, and ran over to the other rope. "Just go slow, and you won't fall. Okay?" I yelled over to him.

"Yep. I'll be careful." He replied.

"Okay! See ya over there!" I started walking over there, and didn't look back, I didn't want to make myself fall. Soon, I was on the platform, and watched as Link carefully stepped off his rope and onto the platform.

"THAT WAS AWESOME!" He told me, happy to do something for himself.

"Haha, yep! It's fun to do stuff for yourself, isn't it?" He nodded, still smiling wide.

The Goron who sat by the platform sat up. "Hmm? Did you come out here to eat the shiny rock?" He asked.

"Uh... No. We are looking for the Spiritual Stone of Fire. Do you have any idea where it is?" Link asked him.

"The red rock? That's what I came out here for, I just wanted one tiny lick, maybe a nibble... I swear! Anyways, I guess Big Brother just have taken it into his room. You might want to go talk to him... I guess." He laid back down.

"Well, okay then." Link frowned. "Where is this Big Brother he was talking about?" He asked me.

"Well, on the bottom floor, but we have to play a song-" I went pale, and remembered something. We hadn't learned Saria's Song. Crap!!!
