Chapter 35

As soon as we walked in, I saw another jellyfish. Out of habit, and annoyance, I shot it dead.

Only then did I realize what I'd just done.

More jellyfish, Biri and Bari, flooded into the room. I heard sparks, and turned to ewheere they were coming from.

And there he was.

Barinade.

He looked so screwed up, so... Not meant to be, you know? Like, an abomination.

It made me want to kill him even more.

"Go, Link! Get to the other side!!!" I yelled, and he snapped out of what seemed to be a trance from staring at Barinade. He rushed to the other side, and pulled out his slingshot. He let a bullet go, and Barinade turned to him, angered. Before he could shock him, I pulled out mine, shooting him in the back. Some jellyfish popped, and he rushed at me, and Link shot him again. He turned around, I shot him. This went on until the first layer of Biri and Bari were gone. Then, guess what?

More of them came.

Link and I were both unscathed as of now, and continued shooting him the way we had been. Finally, all the Bari and Biri were gone.

Now Barinade was REALLY FREAKING MAD. He started spinning, and Robert pulled out his sword, but I waved him down. This was not his battle to fight. He grumbled, and put his sword back in his sheath.

"Link! Target him and use the boomera-" I yelled, but was cut off as Barinade's electric pulses hit me. The electricity rippled throughout my body, and a scream erupted from my throat. Finally, the shockwaves stopped coursing through my veins, and shakily, I stood back up.

Link had gotten the message, apparently, and he was tossing that boomerang at Barinade like there was no tommorow. I, however, crumbled just then, ducking, as Barinade shot out another wave of electricity. Robert ran over to me, popping open a potion and pouring it into my mouth. He ran back to the corner, hiding from Barinade.

I yelled, shooting at Barinade with my slingshot. Link was still hitting him with the boomerang, so he ignored me. This continued, until Barinade swelled up and...

Exploded. All over us.

"Aww, gross!!!" Robert yelled, wiping Barinade junk from his clothes.

Three heart pieces appeared, and a blue teleporting light came with it. We each grabbed our heart piece, and went into the light, teleporting out of there.

When I opened my eyes again, we were standing on a log with, you guessed it, Ruto. She smiled at us.

"Wow!" She smiled again. "You did it! Lord Jabu Jabu is free of the darkness and evil that had infested his stomach!"

"Haha, yeah! We did!" Link said proudly.

"So... Do you want a reward?" She asked.

"Well, yeah!" Robert told her.

"Figured. Well... What do you want, the Zora's Sapphire?"

"Yeah. We do." I stated.

"Really?!?! Well... My mom said only to give this to the man I was going to marry... And... I choose Link."

I almost died laughing as Robert and Link stared back at her, freaked out.

Link tried to back up, the way he always does when he is in an awkward situation, and totally failed, falling off the log and into the water. Ruto dived off and came back up right in front of him.

"Here." She handed the Zora's Sapphire to him. "We're engaged now. I'll be awaiting the day of our marriage!" With that, she disappeared under the water, swimming away at Zora speed.

"Haha! You didn't even get a word in!" Robert laughed, and I stifled my own.

"Dude... What just happened?" Link asked, dumbfounded.

"You're engaged to Ruto, that's what just happened!" I laughed.

"Oh my goddesses, no!"

"Yep. And you are NOT going to nullify it. If you do she'll take back the Zora's Sapphire. It's like their Engagement Ring." I told him.

Link let out a deep sigh. "Alright. Fine. Let's just go back to Zelda..." He trailed off, and I sighed. He still had no idea what was coming.

And I couldn't tell him.
