I shook my head, feeling strange from the breaking off of the telepathic connection. "Alright. Let's go to the Temple of Time." I said when I had ahold on myself.
I let Link lead the way. I felt horrible, not telling him what was about to happen... I sighed. It was way too late now... I took one last look at the happy people of Hyrule Castle Town, and we slipped into the Temple.
"Hey! Over here! Read this, Link!!!" Navi yelled at him.
"Coming, Holy Din, Navi!!!" He replied, running over to the platform where the Spiritual Stones would soon rest.
He read it, and nodded. He took the Stones out and backed up in shock as they levitated over to their resting places on the platform. Then, he pulled the Ocarina of Time and played the Song of Time. I listened to it contently, the song was so sweet and eerie.
He watched in awe as the Door of Time opened, revealing the Master Sword behind it. He looked back to me, and I smiled crookedly at him. Me and Robert ran up to him, and we walked through the door with him.
He slowly walked up to the sword, us behind him. He looked back at us.
"Wow... It's so... Awesome!" He said, and I let out a small laugh. "So... I just grab it and pull it out?" He asked me.
"Yep. But first, can I have a hug?" I asked, wanting to feel the love of this sweet little child before he was imprisoned in the Sacred Realm for 7 years...
He stared back at me for a few seconds, and I could see he thought something might be up, but he didn't say anything about it. "Yeah, sure. Don't see why not." He wrapped his arms around me, and I squeezed him tightly, holding him close to me, feeling his warmth.
"I just... Can't believe it's not even been a week, and I already feel like you are my family, Link." I smiled at him, and actually, it was true. I really felt like he was my brother.
"Aww, thanks Bets. You're like my sister too now." He smiled back at me, and turned around. He stepped up to the sword and I gave a worried glance to Robert, who gave me a confused look back.
"1... 2... 3!" Link yelled, and I about choked on air, watching in horror as he pulled out the sword.
A blue, diamond shape formed around him, and he banged his fists on it, desperately trying to get out.
"Link!!!!" I yelled, and broke down as I saw him mouth 'Bets!!!' I couldn't hear him, but I could tell he was screaming.
Tears streamed down my face, and I ran up to the crystal, banging on it, Robert following me and doing the same.
"Hehehe... I knew you kids would lead me here." A voice laughed from behind us.
Jordan.
I turned around, and sure enough, saw my best friend smiling evilly back at me.
"Jordan. Don't do this!" I yelled at her.
"Ha! Yeah, right! Who would miss this opportunity??? I can go into the Sacred Realm and get the Triforce!!! And you can't stop me!!!" She laughed maniacally, and formed a ball of energy in her hands, hurling it at the ground in front of us. It exploded, and I screamed. When it exploded, a wall smoke appeared in front of us. It got in my eyes, and I squinted, rubbing it out.
"No!!!" I yelled, and took a deep breath of air. I ducked down holding my breath and rolled through to the other side of the smoke wall.
I stood up quickly, opening my eyes. I gasped, and collapsed to my knees.
"No..." I choked.
I blinked, rubbed my eyes, and shook my head in despair, letting it hang in shame. I had failed Hyrule...
They were both gone. And the equivalent of Ganon would touch the Triforce, acquire the Triforce of Power, and the Triforce would break into 3 pieces...
Hyrule would be in desolation, ruined thanks to Jordan over the course of the next seven years...
And... Robert and I wouldn't be going home for...
Seven years.
