It's frightening how in the matter of a few days, your entire reputation and life can change just from a few words.
Maggie was a good girl. A good Catholic girl, with upstanding parents and a very upper class l...
Dhani was a beautiful charming baby. Never fussed, never cried and was the sweetest thing on earth.
I devoted my days to taking care of him, working at the studio a couple times a week, upon which George would take Daddy duty.
Max was going through a difficult phase. He wanted to spend time with John and Paul. John was his birth father, but Paul raised him for seven years of his life. Paul was all he really knew but he wanted to know John so much.
So against my better judgment, Max would be gone for a year. He'd spend half of it with Paul and Linda and his sister Mary, and the other half with John in New York.
I spoke to his regular pediatrician who agreed wholeheartedly. "This will be good for his development. He'll have a better understanding of who he is, which he will need in the future. As long as he goes to school, he'll be completely fine."
But was I? Max had always been with me. He'd never spent more than a summer away from me. Both Paul and John assured me that he'd be fine and I finally caved.

"Call us as soon as you get there. Don't be afraid to ask any questions to your dad or Linda. If you don't like it and wanna come home, I'll fly down ASAP and come to get ye." I crouched down in front of Max.
"Yes, mom. I love you." Blinking away my tears I pulled my second oldest into a tight embrace.
"I love you my baby boy." I kissed him all over his face before standing up.
"Have fun, Max." George handed me Dhani so he could hug Max.
"Bye Uncle George."
Lucy grabbed her brother and squeezed the life out of the boy. Lucy was 13 years old and already a strong girl.
"Any jerks bother you, call me and I'll introduce them to Punch Mcgee and Fistio 'oFlanagen!" She held up her fists.
"Thanks, Lucy." Max walked towards the flight attendant who'd be guiding him through the airport. He turned and gave us a final wave before walking inside.
When we arrived back home, Lucy ran upstairs to go call her friends while I sat on the couch.
"I feel like an empty nester." I sighed picking up Max's baseball.
"Oh lass, wait till Dhani here goes off to college. Then you'll feel like an empty nest." George sat next to me taking off Dhani's little sweater.
"Oh, no, no, no. He's staying my little Dhani forever. Huh, love?" I took him from George kissing his cheek."Can we trade in the other kids?"
"Not without a receipt." George chucked and laid back on the couch, pulling me with him.
I sat Dhani up on my stomach and he looked curiously down at us before letting out an adorable giggle and grinned widely.
I wouldn't trade my family for anything in this world.
Don't worry John fans, the Lennon will be making an appearance soon. 😉
