John's POV
I pulled my luggage out of the taxi and heard it sped off as I walked to the front porch of Maggie's house, digging into my pocket for my copy of the key. The warm lighting through the closed shades and the smell of home cooking brought a smile to my face.
Finally locating the key, I unlocked the door and was hit by the warmth and smell of baked goods."I'm back!" I called and the sound of running feet echoed through the house.
"Daddy!" Max squealed throwing himself at me. Laughing I caught him tickling him and kissing him causing giggles and screams to erupt from his small body.
"Did ya bring me a present?!" He blinked his large eyes, which twinkled merrily at me.
"Max. You know Mom said not to ask those kind of questions!" Lucy came into the room moments after, scowling at her brother.
Max frowned and clutched onto me tighter. "Daddy always brings me a gift when he comes back!" Max turned to me for back up.
I chuckled. "Later son, and I promise I'll play with you later too." I put the 6 year old down, "Now get outta here. " I gently patted his bottom and he raced off into another room.
"You're not gonna give me a hug love?" I pouted at Lucy and her beautiful face broke into a smile and she ran into my open arms.
The nine year old giggled when I spun her around kissing her forehead. "I missed you uncle John. Guess what?!" She bounced excitedly on her feet.
"Hmm. Let me guess, your turning 16 today?" I playfully held my chin in mock thought.
"No! I got the lead in the Thanksgiving play at school! I'm Sarah Miller!" She squealed excitedly clapping her hands.
I had no idea who Sarah Miller was, Yoko and I never bothered to brush up on American history after we moved, but it seemed important to Lucy.
"That's great love. I can't wait to see your performance. Where's your mum?" I ruffled her hair and she pouted, fixing it afterwards.
"I'm right here." I looked up to face Maggie. Her green eyes sparkled happily at me as she held Mary in her arms.
She passed the baby to Lucy, who went into the kitchen and hugged me tightly. "I missed you Johnny." She whispered and I pulled her closer and closed my eyes.
"I missed you too baby. I won't be leaving anytime soon." I pulled away and gently cupped her cheek and brought our lips together.
When we pulled apart, Maggie suddenly snatched me back by my college and passionately kissed me. When we pulled apart breathless I raised an eyebrow smirking. "What was that about?"
Maggie breathed heavily her high cheekbone cheeks tinted pink. "My mother always said, you can't fake a kiss.....Obviously you missed me just as much."
"How much?" I purred stroking her hair.
"My mother also always said, you can't put a price on love." She giggled.
"So, how was the visit? How's Sean doing?" She asked leading me into the dinning room.
"He's alright. He's bigger than when I last saw him." I smiled at the thought of my youngest and Maggie brought out a plate for me.
