Maggie's POV
"Oh my sweet lord! Jace! Hi! What're you doing here?" I squealed throwing my arms around him. Jace chuckled hugging me back just as fierce.
"Well, I finished the trip and I hadn't seen my sister Melissa in a long time and she lives out here. And she's a dance instructor and she told me about the job she got and how your the owner." He smiled.
"Oh. Well come in, come in!" I moved aside and Jace walked in.
"I'll put the kettle on." I led him to the kitchen.
"So I read in the newspapers...... You and your husband didn't work out?" Jace accepted the cup of tea I offered.
"Yeah. It's just that, I always loved him, but I was never truly in love with him." I sighed and Jace gave me a sympathetic smile. "But enough about me. So what's going on with you?" I leaned on my hand.
"I'm staying with my sister for a while. Not really eager to go back to work yet. I promised her I'd clean the garage. " Jace rolled his eyes.
"Well-" I was cut off by the sound of the front door opening.
"Ey Maggs. Help me with these bags eh?" John called from the living room.
I stood up and Jace followed me into the entrance where John stood holding a plastic bag in each hand, Mary strapped to his chest.
John's face brightened upon seeing me, but faded when he noticed Jace behind me. "And who um.....?" John raised an eyebrow studiously.
"Hi I'm Jace, I'm a friend of Maggie's." Jace held out his hand as I took a bag from John.
"John." John shook his hand and there was a momentary silence.
"I actually gotta go. Melissa's probably waiting for me. It was nice seeing you again Maggie and nice to meet you John." Jace gave me a quick hug and shook John's hand before slipped out of the house.
I took the bags from John walking into the kitchen and began putting away the food.
"Friend of yours?" John leaned on the counter.
"Mmmhmmm. Met him at home. He just finished a tour of Europe, for his wife." John visibly relaxed.
"Yoko called." I said quietly and John froze, "She wants to meet with you. Says Sean misses you." I busied myself with washing off the fresh strawberries.
"Maggie." John spoke quietly and I heard him shuffle to put Mary in her high chair before he wrapped his arms around me from behind, resting his chin on top of my head.
"I'll come back. Don't you ever worry about that love." John kissed my head.
I leaned against him and snuggled my face into his chest inhaling his scent, It's not that. It's just a matter of when?"
