Maggie's POV
February 1978 (four months later)
"Happy birthday dear Mary! Happy birthday to you!!" Lucy and Max sang loudly
I blew out the candles for Mary who squealed as John lifted her up kissing her. "Can we have cake now Mummy?" Max asked bouncing in his seat like the hi-wired kid he was.
"In a second lovey." I chuckled asking Lucy to get the plates.
The five of us surrounded our kitchen table. We decided on a small family birthday, to avoid the press that had finally gotten wiff of John and my whereabouts.
"Lucy take the plates into the living room. John could you carry the cake?" I asked grabbing the forks.
The doorbell rang from the front of the house and I frowned. We weren't excepting company for the day, and I hadn't ordered anything for the party. Dusting my hands I reached for the door and opened it to reveal a pair of large doe eyes.
"Hey Maggie."
I shallower thickly and straightened my composure. "What are you doing here Paul?"
