Balloons

'So many years
so many dark memories
So many fears we've now put to ease
Pain makes you do things you never knew you could do
Is this all real?
Or just déja vù?
But now the party's over
Now the guests are gone
It's already past our bedtime
It's already almost dawn
Just like balloons we soar on our own
Finally free from the pain of our home
Just like balloons that no one will hold
Free from the truth that no one will know
Just little children
Not at all strange
Until the lights went out
And everything changed
Alone and afraid
For oh so long
Wandering what did we do wrong?
But now the party's over
And everyone is red
I feel sick to my stomach
Or am I sick in the head?
Just like balloons we soar on our own
Finally free from the pain of our home
Just like balloons that no one will hold
Free from the truth that no one will know
Just like balloons we soar on our own
Finally free from the pain of our home
Just like balloons that no one will hold
Free from the truth that no one knows'
As the song ended BB and JJ both looked like they were going to cry. The song describes them perfectly apart from the fact that they would never be free.
Ever.
JJ had tears falling down her cheeks so BB hugged his sister. They had always tried to keep a low profile. They hated the spotlight, so BB had refused to be on it. His demands were that they would give things out but the spotlight would not be on them.
Another demand was that they would be able to eat whatever amount of batteries they wanted. Not a lot, because BB didn't like BB and JJ was trying to lose weight.
The manager only agreed because BB wasn't going to let up, no matter how many times they hit him. BB also wouldn't let anyone hurt JJ so that was also off the table.
The manager's exact words were, "For god's sake fine. You can be Balloon boy and Balloon girl. But Christ stop hitting him. It's doing you no good."
BB had gotten battered and bruised beyond pain. JJ had tried to save him from scarring but it was a lost cause. The only ego he had left was the fact that he had saved JJ from humiliation. They could both sing of course, but neither of them liked to do so in public.
Just like Mario. That was BB's nickname for the puppet. He hated it. That's why he did it.
BB hated being balloon boy. JJ didn't mind that much but BB despised it. It reminded him of what his mum used to call him. She called him Hemodius Doí. That translates to Helium boy. Helium was a good thing among his tribe.
BB was not very happy.
