Chapter 20

Michelle's Pov

I blink rapidly to try and defuse the tears.
"You don't seem very happy" Cierra's mood drops.
"Oh no I am. I'm so happy for you, I just well Eldon and I have a slight history and were not on good terms it just came as a shock to hear his name again" I force a smile.
"Oh my god. I'm so sorry, I can cancel it if you want!"
"No! Oh god no. He's all you honestly it's okay" I say convincing myself more than Cierra. She gives me a soft smile.
"Wait, he lives like three hours away, how's this gonna work?"
She shakes her head and give me a confused look.
"He moved up here like a month ago. We met at a concert two weeks after he got here"
"Oh, does that mean he's transferred?"
"Yeah, he starts next week" Cierra says all giddy. Great. I hope we can mend things together.
"Well then, we better get you cleaned up!" I say and Richelle and I giggle.

"Oh my god he's here!" Cierra screeches as there's a knock at the door, "Michelle answer it!"
I roll my eyes at her and run to the dorm door. I take in a deep breath before I open it.
"Hey- Michelle?" He looks confused not to mention very attractive. Cie is a lucky girl.
"Hey" I say awkwardly, "you uh look nice" I force a weak smile.
"Thanks. You umm do to?" He gives a questioned look. I look down at myself an examine my outfit; odd fluffy socks, black yoga pants, a oversized hoody not to mention the bird nest I shoved into a bun. I shrug and awkwardly stand there.
"So" we say at the same time.
"You first" we say again. I laugh.
"You go" he says.
"Oh I uhh I didn't realise you had transferred"
"Yeah I kinda of just did it" he says.
"That's not like you, at all"
We both laugh.
"Yeah I guess there's a lot about me you don't know"
I bite the inside of my cheek and look down.
"Sorry" he mumbles.
"It's fine" I shake my head and look up "I'll go get Cierra" my voice cracks and I leave him standing there.

"We should go clubbing" Richelle says and she fiddles with the ends of her hair. I look up from my phone and we make eye contact.
"Hmm no" I say go and back to my phone.
"Oh please. We've been locked in here for days, Cierra is out having fun and I think it's time you find someone for yourself. Move on from you know who"
I narrow my eyes and contemplate this for a second.
"Let's do it!"
