"Please?" Blu asked again.
"Let me think about it," I told him.
It was the second day of school, and currently lunch. Blu really wants me to join football. I don't know how to play, though. I guess I could learn. I was strong physically and mentally; I'm sure I'd be able to figure it all out.
"Fine," I said after a while.
Blu smiled, "Really?"
I glared, playfully. "Don't make me change my mind."
"Sorry, sorry. We'll talk to coach after school and tell him. You'll have to get a physical, by the way. Practice starts tomorrow," he informed me.
I nodded. I would most likely be able to make a doctors appointment after school.
"You think you can help me begin before tomorrow. Like after school?" I asked.
"Of course," he said.
After school, Blu told the coach about me joining, who was quite pleased. Blu then pulled me into the field and we practiced. It was mostly like catch at first. But then he showed me the basic steps for quarterback which was what the coach had assigned me as. I had gotten the hang of it, but I could use some more practice.
We walked into the boys locker room afterwards. I took my shirt off considering I was sweating, and it was just making me hotter. Blu's eyes seemed to scan me for just a second, and I blushed.
"You did good," Blu congratulated, patting my back.
"Thanks," I beamed, slipping my shirt back on. "See you tomorrow?" We walked out of the locker rooms and into the parking lot.
"Yeah, see ya," he smiled and walked to his car.

"Listen up, class!" The choir teacher, Mrs. Smith, shouted over the class.
The class was soon completely silent, and all heads were turned toward her.
"I have already chosen the songs for our Christmas related concert. I'm also arranging roles for some of you if you audition. You'll be able to sing a full song during the concert," she told us. "You guys want to start auditions now?"
There were a variety of yeahs and Mrs. Smith smiled. "Who wants to go first?"
Almost the whole class auditioned and it made me feel a bit queazy. Everyone was so good.
"Anyone else?" Mrs. Smith scanned the room.
I sighed and raised my eyes. The teacher smiled and nodded for me to come down. I slowly walked to the front, and cleared my throat. Mrs. Smith smiled reassuringly, and I felt a bit better. I took a deep breath, starting to sing.
"Tried to keep you close to me,
But life got in between
Tried to square not being in there
But think that I should've beenHold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold backOnce upon a different life
We rode our bikes into the sky
But now we're caught against the tide
Those distant days all flashing byHold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold backHold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back"I stopped the song short like everyone else. I chose the song because I personally loved it. Though if I did get a role in the concert, I'd have to think of a song to sing.
I blushed lightly when everyone clapped, going back to my own seat. Though I didn't seem like it, I felt proud.
When the end of school came along, I smiled as I walked to Blu.
"You ready for practice?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes, playfully. "Don't remind me."
Blu chuckled, "Come on."
We made our way to the boys locker room. Others were inside, but didn't seem to notice us. I had gotten my uniform yesterday, and it was currently in my gym locker. I got it out and set it on the bench beside me. I easily took off my clothes and stuffed them inside the locker before locking it. I noticed some people were glancing at my toned body, and I blushed. I coughed awkwardly and they looked away. I breathed out in relief before slipping the uniform on.
The quarterbacks job is to lead his team to the end zone and score as many points possible. He would throw the ball while his teammates attempt to catch it and run, trying to score a touchdown. Though it was sometimes rare, he was able to run with the ball himself if needed. It wasn't as rare it they were in high school or college, so it was fine anyways.
When I walked out, I stood by Blu while everyone stretched out. All of a sudden, a ball rammed into my face. I almost fell back, but strong arms caught me. I open my eyes, only to see everything blurry. I searched for my glasses that had fallen off, bending down and running my hands across the grass. I soon felt them and grabbed them, putting them back on my face.
Blu smiled softly, "You okay?"
He seemed to ask that a lot. I nodded and turned to see who had done it. It was Daniel. I could tell because he had a huge smirk on his face.
"Sorry, my hand slipped."
I sighed, just telling myself that I was lucky since my glasses didn't break. I made a reminder to wear my contacts whenever I had practice. I didn't wear them a lot since it took time and, being honest here, I was lazy in the morning.
I rubbed my face, wincing when I put to much pressure on it. I knew there would be a bruise forming soon. I shrugged it off, though.
The 2 hours of practice seemed to fly by. Daniel and his crew teased me a lot, but like always I ignored it. I was a bit rusty which wasn't surprising. I just started playing.
"You're not gonna quit, are you?" Blu asked me once we were done getting dressed and heading to our cars.
I chuckled and shook my head. "No," I told him. "I'll stay for your sake."
I was just joking, but a part of me meant it. He really wanted me to join and I wasn't going to quit because Daniel and his "crew" we're douchebags.
Blu's face lit up at that, and he smiled. "Why do they pick on you? Daniel and the others, I mean," he questioned.
So he has noticed. I shrugged. "I don't know," I lied.
"Are you sure?" He pushed.
"Well, I do, but I don't understand why really," I told him truthfully.
"What is it?" He asked, carefully.
"I have blue cone monochromacy," I said.
"Blue cone mono-what?"
I chuckled, "Im completely colorblind. I can't see any color expect gray."
"Oh," he whispered.
"Hey, don't feel bad for me," I joked. "Anyways, I've got to get going."
Blu nodded and waved goodbye, walking off. My mom should be done with dinner by now.
Both my mom and dad were impressed that I joined football especially my dad, of course. I just told them that it was a new experience which was true. It was fine so far. But today was only the first day. I just had to go through one game before it ends because of winter.
I sighed; it was going to be a while until then. I wonder what would happen between that time. I hope nothing bad.
