Crushed

I storm outside near the front doors. The school bus always reaches an hour early to school, so I have half an hour.

I sit down on a bench and huddle up into a ball. I cannot believe I just did that.

I feel so scared but so brave at the same time. I feel so exposed.
I hear someone open the front doors. I pull my bag toward me and scrunch up a little tighter.
          "You okay?" Someone asks.
I look up to see who it is. I almost faint.
          "Brandon?"
"How do you know my name?"
"That doesn't matter right now," I reply, almost like a robot. I am carried away by his dreamy blue eyes. "What matters is why you are here, talking to me."
          "Why shouldn't I?"
"Why shouldn't you?! More like why should you."
"Okay, well, if you don't want me to help you, then I won't. I was only trying to be nice!"
"Oh." I sadly realize. I am crushed. Literally. Crushed.
