Ugh! Why did I make that deal that I will go to the dance? I won't have anyone to dance with!
But I have to show everyone else that I am game.
I don't even have a costume! Or even a ticket! I haven't even asked my parents! WHY did I do this?
I can wear all black! That way, I can be hidden and have a costume! NO. I have to wear something glamorous and I have to try and be the center of attention. Maybe...
Maybe I can wear a mask and go to the dance! So that way my face can be covered up and no one can tell it is me! I will be a girl werewolf...
I already have an idea. I can have a ripped up shirt, ripped pants, and a ripped sweater. And also a mask! No one will notice me!
Now to ask my parents.
After I am ready, I walk downstairs. I actually look really good. I can barely even tell it is me! Okay. How do I do this?
"Mom? Dad?"
"Yes, Kacey?" Mom asks.
"I know this is a totally bizarre question, but is it okay if I go to the Halloween dance?"
"But I thought you don't believe in this stuff," Mom replies without even looking at me.
"I know, but I changed my mind." My mom looks at me like I have no face. Partially true, in a way. Then I make up a lie. "Okay, well my friends invited me, and I promised them would go."
"I am not so sure..."
"Please? I will walk there."
"Fine. Take your phone with you just in case."
"Thank you!" I say, but I don't think my mom hears me because I am halfway out the door.
