We walk down the halls of the school. Out of the blue, Brandon says, "Hide!"
"Why?"
"Just-" He sighs. "Just trust me." My eyes are wide with curiosity. Is it a surprise? A game?
Or does he want to get rid of me?
No way. Otherwise, he wouldn't have called me here.
So I run to the bathroom and go in there and peek out the doorway. "No! Somewhere else! Where you can't be seen!"
"Um- Okay?" I say, though it comes out sounding like a question. I walk towards an empty locker- the door is hanging open, so I can see- and squirm inside of it. Brandon closes the door.
"Just listen carefully," He smiles.
"What are you doing here?" I hear a girl's voice. But who's?
"Um, well, Amara, I was just hanging out with a friend."
"Which friend?"
"Um, she is in the bathroom."
"She?"
"Yes, she! Can't I have any girl friends?" My heart beats so loud, I think that Amara heard it. Could it really be?
"Um... well, I was wondering i-if we could hang out and walk around for a while," She stammers.
