"You.. love me.."

"Levi!" Eugene's sharp shout brought me out of a trance. "This is no time to be blushing, goddammit.." I attempted to press my hand against my cheek to see if he was right, but I had forgotten my arms were tied to the chair.

"If you love me, why are you hurting me?" I whimpered. Adam's eyes met mine, and I saw the guilt and self-hatred building in his orbs. I know he doesn't want to do this.. so why is he?

"If you're not going to let us out," Eugene spoke, "then tell us why we're here. I don't give a shit about you loving her, Adam, because you know it's not true. Why would you tie her to a fucking chair--"

"Oh my god, you really don't get it, do you?" Alyssa snorted unattractively. "We're keeping you here so you can be ours. You won't have any other girl but me, Eugene. You love me, I know you do."

"I don't love you. Not anymore."

"Oh really? What was three days ago, then? Was it not love?" She smirked and glanced at me to see my reaction. I stared at Eugene, my lower lip quivering. I didn't speak. If I did, I would start crying. I slumped in my chair and stared at the dirty floor.

"Lyss, c'mon," Adam spoke quietly. "You said you wouldn't do this." Alyssa sighed heavily and walked out of the room. I looked up at Adam. He smiled softly at me. "It'll be okay, Levi." He left the room and shut the door, but not before shutting off the lights. I finally let my sobs ring.

"Oh, Lev, don't cry.."

"Why wouldn't I?!" I wailed. "Y-You had s-sex with her, an-and.." I cried harder.

"Levi, it wasn't like that!" Eugene exclaimed, exasperated. "We didn't have sex. I kissed her out of pity. She was crying - kept saying she was sorry for everything she did - and I felt bad, okay?" I sniffled, my tears coming to an end.

"Eugene," my quiet voice sighed. "What happened? How do you even know Alyssa?" I heard him sigh, but I couldn't see him. Despite being slightly angry that he kissed Alyssa, I still wanted to see his face. It would at least bring me comfort.

"A while ago.." Eugene started the story. "I was dating this girl. Her name was Rachel. I was practically in love with her - she was perfect in my eyes. We dated for about two years, and one day, she.." I heard him swallow. His voice came back, trembling. "S-She got in a car accident. Doctors said she had no chance of making it, so they cut the cord. I was so depressed. I stopped coming to work. I drank a lot more. I was in a really bad place, Levi."

My eyes closed. I remembered, before Adam asked me to go to that club, when Sara had told me about Eugene's deceased ex girlfriend. Rachel must have been that girl.

"Keith and the guys managed to get me out of the house," Eugene chuckled dryly. "They took me to one of Quinta's parties. That's where I met Alyssa. I woke up at her house, and instead of running off like a prick, I talked to her. Eventually, we.. started dating. She helped me get over Rachel. I thought I was finally happy, until I caught her cheating. I broke up with her, obviously, but.. she kept following me. I had to move a few times and change my number. I even got a restraining order, but she somehow made it to my work."

"That's when you met me," I whispered, and he confirmed it with a 'mhm.' "Eugene, why didn't you tell anybody? If you had a restraining order, she could've gotten taken away!"

"I was going to, but then I met you," I heard a smile in his voice. "I thought she would give up if she saw me happy with another girl. I really like you, Levi. I just wanted to be happy again. I haven't felt the way I feel with you, ever. Even with Rachel." My cheeks burned in embarrassment. "But.. I'm sorry this happened."

"Don't be," I smiled sadly, even if he couldn't see it. "You didn't do anything wrong. And hey - don't worry about anything, in fact. The police will find us. My dad was supposed to call me, and when he realizes I don't answer, he'll get help."

"We can only hope," Eugene murmured.

"Hey, Eugene?" I said softly. He replied with a questioning noise. I smiled bashfully. "I like you a lot, too."

"When this is all over, what do you say we get some Taco Bell?" The man chuckled. For the first time tonight, I laughed and said yes.

"You'll be okay, Levi."
