No matter who it is, they feel the need to share everything with their friends. I won't lie. We've all been there. Who hasn't? It's human to have a crush. It's human to like someone, to smile when you talk to them. But there is a difference between liking someone and full on obsessing. Odds are, your crush is real. He's not fictional. You don't need to fangirl over him. Nobody likes a stalker.
Trust me, your friends will get bored with you. Nobody wants to hear you talking about nothing but him. No friend wants to get ditched for him. No guy wants to hear about all the lovey-dovey cute things you do together.
Lovers need to tell others about their love life. Sometimes they take it as far as their sex life (and nobody wants to hear about that). Their relationships need to be public. Their facebook status changes. Their instagram bios change and their snapchat story is filled with the other. It's no longer about you, the friend.
Now, it's only about the other. The boyfriend, the girlfriend. Suddenly, your best friend doesn't have time for you anymore. Even when you're with them, you're a million miles away. They say that you're part of the conversation, but you aren't. If you try to say something, you're going to have to repeat yourself. And even then, they won't hear you. They won't listen. They won't care. The lovers are in their own world now. You can't get them out. Only they can do that.
When they do come down from their cloud, it won't be pretty. They will expect you to be there for them after the breakup. They expect you to give advice and feel bad for them. But why should you? They weren't being a true friend? They left you for the boy that broke their heart. He left you for the girl who was easy. They didn't care about you. They were only thinking of their relationship and what they would get out of it.
Their a lover. They need to be loved. They'll do anything they can to feel that way. Even if it means forgetting about you. Lovers can't have friends, not true ones. Lovers will leave you for someone else. Even after their heart is broken- they won't rely on you. They'll just move on to someone else who can love them.
Lovers have a cycle. It's never ending. It will always be that way. They will get attached and you won't be able to get them free.
