I agreed to talk about our "Plan" after class. After much prodding, Travis convinced me to meet up at Snowflake, a frozen yogurt shop.
As soon as we got orders, me made our way to the booths in the corner of the store. He took the seat across from me.
"So what made you reconsider?"
I wasn't sure if I wanted to answer that, or that I had an answer in the first place, so I simply said, "I just did."
" No one just reconsiders something like that."
"Well, I did," I snapped.
I wasn't being a bi### on purpose, but I wasn't confortable with the idea of telling Travis my feelings.
"So...I was thinking we should give them a show. Stir some things up," he said, changing the topic.
I raised an eyebrow. "How are we going to do that?"
"We need to do sonething that will set you apart from the other girls I've dated before. If you play hard to get and I pretend to continue pursuing you despite your consant rejection, peaple will talk about us more."
" Is that really necessary?" I asked him.
"Maybe not," he replied. "But woudn't it be better to make Zvahl think that what we have is something serious? That I could replace him?" He shrugged."It'll drive him crazy."
"Why are you doing this?"
He made no effort to disguise his own contempt for Laurence.
"I have reasons."
"The moment this dosen't work out, we're done. I can back out of this anytime." I said
"You can atleast pretend you don't hate me so much," he said
"There's not really much for me to like," I deadpanned.
One corner of his lips rose. "Smart girl."
