Chapter 7
The next day...
Riker POV
I walked over to Jen's, and knocked on her door. She answered it a few moments later.
"Hey, Riker."
"Hi. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today."
"Sure."
"What do you want to do?"
"Whatever."
"Ok... Um... We could go to my house."
"Ok."
We walked over to my house together, and went up to my bedroom.
"I'm glad the power came back on this morning," Jen said, sitting down on my bed.
"Yeah, me too."
"So who do you room with?"
"Rocky."
"Do you like sharing a room?"
"Not really... I mean... There's pros and cons. I've always shared with him, so we're pretty close. But he doesn't like my snoring. And sometimes I wish I had more privacy..."
"Yeah, that makes sense..."
"So um... I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go into town today."
"And do what?"
"I don't know... Just walk around and stuff."
"Uh... Sure."
"Do you want to go now? We can walk. It's only like 10 minutes."
"Ok."
Jen and I walked down the road, headed towards Lake George. We didn't really talk much the whole way there.
When we got there, we started walking in a random direction.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked.
"I don't know."
"You always say that. And 'maybe.' Seriously, what do you want to do?"
"Whatever..."
"And you say that too!"
"Riker, I don't care. Whatever you want to do, it's fine with me."
"Ok... Then I was wondering if we could go out to lunch."
"Riker, I didn't bring any money."
"That's ok. I can pay."
"Riker, you don't have to do that."
"I want to. Please?"
"Alright, fine..."
We found a place, and got seated. We ordered, and our food came pretty quickly.
"So um... Jen..."
"What?"
"I was wondering if um... if maybe you'd... possibly want to go out with me...?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like... a date...?"
"Um... Riker, I'm not ready for another boyfriend yet. I'm still not over my ex yet. He broke my heart!"
"Ok, ok, that's ok. I'm sorry..."
"I think maybe I should go home."
"No, Jen please! I'm sorry for making it awkward. But please stay."
