Chapter 11
Riker POV
I waited out on my front steps for Jen. She walked over, and handed me my hoodie back.
"Hey, we're about to have dinner. We're having steak. My dad's making it on the grill in the backyard."
"Ok, sounds good."
I led her inside.
"Do you want to go up to my room until dinner's ready?" I asked.
"Sure."
We went up to my room, and Jen sat on my bed. I sat beside her.
"So... Do you think your parents would let you sleep over for a movie night? I mean, it wouldn't just be you and me. It'd be you, me, and my siblings too," I said, nervously.
"Uh... I can text them and ask. But probably. There's probably no reason I couldn't..."
Jen took out her phone, and texted her parents.
"Kids! Dinner!"
"Did you tell your mom I was here?"
"Yeah."
"Ok."
I led her downstairs. We got our dinners, and then I led her back up to my room.
"Riker?"
"Yeah?"
"My parents said I could sleep over."
"Cool!"
Later...
Riker POV
Jen had brought over her sleeping bag and stuff. We were all downstairs right now in the basement, about to start the movie. Jen was all the way over on one side, I was next to her, then Rocky, Ross, Rydel, and Ryland.
Rocky started the movie. It was a random comedy we found on Netflix.
Jen moved a little closer to me. I smiled, and continued watching the movie.
Later...
Riker POV
Jen had fallen asleep with her head on my chest. Rocky had shut off the movie, and I laid down with my arm still around Jen. I let her stay where she was, with her head on my chest. I was actually really happy about that. I think she was finally starting to trust me, and show a little bit more of her true self to me.
But the part I was most happy about was that I was starting to see that she might actually have feelings for me too. At first, I thought she was just trying to be nice, but now I was almost sure she felt something for me.
I sighed happily, closed my eyes, and fell asleep.
The next morning...
Jen POV
I woke up, and realized I was on Riker!
I slid myself off of him as gently as I could, so I was on my own pillow. He still had his arm around me.
I noticed we were the only ones still down here. Everyone else was gone.
I grabbed my phone, and looked at the time. It was 10:06 in the morning. They probably all woke up already...
"Riker... Riker. Riker!"
Riker turned over a little, and mumbled something I couldn't understand.
"Riker, wake up!"
Riker's eyes opened, and he stared back at me.
"It's morning. Everyone else left already."
