Chapter 10

The next day...

Riker POV

I woke up to find Jen awake already. She was on her laptop. I shot up, and went over to her.

"What are you doing!?" I asked.

I looked at the screen, and she was on facebook, looking at all her messages from her ex.

"Jen! Block him!"

She slammed her screen shut.

"Riker, I just can't!"

I took her laptop, opened it, and blocked her ex.

"There. You won't be able to get any more messages from him."

I deleted all the messages, and handed her laptop back. I felt bad because she was crying. But I felt like I barely knew her, and I didn't know what I should do! I'd never had a girlfriend before, and I just didn't know what to do!

"Jen. Um... How about we... we could go have breakfast. At my house."

"I-I guess so..."

We walked over to my house to find a note on the door.

"Riker,

When we get back, you're grounded for sneaking out. We will discuss your punishment later. We had to leave to go visit your aunt in the hospital. We will be back around 5:00 tonight.

Mom"

"Alright. Well they're not home so..."

"You're grounded. It's all my fault."

"Hey. No it's not! It was my decision."

"Riker."

"I promise! It was all my fault. Not yours. Let's go back to your house and get some breakfast, ok?"

"Ok."

We went back to Jen's, and had cereal for breakfast. I could tell she was stressed out about her ex.

"Jen, do you want to talk about things? Like your ex?"

"No."

"I think it'd make you feel better though. When something's stressing me out, I always feel better when I talk to someone."

"I don't want to."

"Ok, fine. But if you do, I'm here for you."

"Ok..."

"So um... Let's do something to get your mind off of it."

"Like what?"

"Like... Well I'm still in my pajamas, but I guess we could go down to the beach still... I'm just going to have to hope no one's there to see me. Or we could stay up here and do something."

"I don't know..."

I hate when she gets like this...

"Ok. Well what do you prefer? The beach? Or staying here?"

"Staying here."

"Ok. So what do you want to do here?"

"Nothing."

I sighed.

"Ok. New plan. We're doing something fun. Let's watch YouTube."

I followed Jen back into her room. She opened her laptop, and I found us some funny videos to take her mind off of everything.

Later...

Riker POV

I saw my parents' car pull in, and I knew I had to go home.
